Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and nice brekky. 3 mins drive away from the plane wreck (but be prepared for the 3.5km walk!)

Forget your first impressions. Yes it's very basic and like student accommodation and very expensive, once you bed down after a long day, it's ok. Clean and comfy and a warm welcome. Breakfast ok with good coffee. Good location and views.

By far, one of the Best places I have ever stayed! I was welcomed & embraced by family & even took a hillside walk herding the sheep with Petla, "my" new family dog! I've come home! 🇮🇸

My FAVORITE place I stayed. Good deal, breakfast is delicious, hosts are sweet and helpful, and there's the sweetest dog to greet you when he is out. Oh andThe shower is AWESOME and is tall!!!!!! Btw, big tip.pick up an illustrated color local Vik map at the gas station about 20 minutes away. In this area, you need a little more than road signs. ;)

Stayed in a single room for one night. Access to private shower and bed. No TV, which was good for me. Free WIFI. Clean and simple. Room was a little chilly. Not much control over the room temperature, but the bedspreads were very warm. Would stay again; but would bring heavy socks and flannel pjs.

First of all, it's a guest house and it sort of did the job if anyone is looking for a place to stay in iceland. The place is built for tourist and it's bare minimum for a hotel. For $2xx a night, i'd say there are better options nearby. I have a way better stay at Hotel Anna which is cheaper than this.

Room: As mentioned, it's bare minimum. You get a bed and a small desk. There is no water pot and everything else is very basic. There is a shared kitchen you share with 10 other rooms. This is definitely something we did not see when booking and it wasnt mentioned anywhere. The place is built for tourist but they can do a better job than that.

Breakfast: Decent and it's the same almost everywhere you go.

Restaurant: No restaurant. If you get there at dinner time, be prepared to go elsewhere to find food

Service: Average. I have stayed at two other places in the southern part of iceland and this one just happens to be the worst. We asked the host if there's going to be Aurora the night and it happened to be a great night for it. @Hotel Anna, the host was happy to call and let people know when to come out. But at this place, she said.it's your luck. you need to keep coming out at zero degree. We were speechless.

Summary

I would not go there again and would not recommend anyone to go. Hotel Anna is much better and it's just 20 mins away from it.

Lovely place to stay close to Vik and directly off Highway 1. Terrific location and athmosphere. When we arrived the family dog greeted us and the friendly owners made check-in possible in less than a minute.

Rooms offer fair cost-benefit ratio and a large (in-room) bathroom. You can also expect a shared kitchen/living-room area with a TV, games and a lot of information material. Great place to chat and meet other travellers.

Breakfast buffet offered more than expected but breakfast time was a little bit short 08:00-09:30 so the room was a bit overcrowded and staff was pretty busy to refill and clean. Maybe this should be extended to take some pressure off.

Still the best experience we had with lodging during our 2 weeks holiday in Iceland. 5 - Stars
