Wonderful place to go to for a long walk even in winter. In winter it's not possible to drive into the middle of the park (some people still do but the roads are icy and it's clearly marked you shouldn't do it) but you can easily park outside and walk over to the center. The views are rewarding and the trails well marked.

The lake was partially frozen when we were there. Strong breeze chills but akso brings the scent of winter crisp. Veey beautiful setting especially with swans and ducks breaking the serene surface of the frozen lake.

Beautiful, beautiful place. The area is well kept and is a great way to get lost in nature. One of my highlights of my Icelandic trip. A great spot to see the northern lights as well.

No crowds or tourists here! :) beautiful! Wildflowers, green grass, pine trees, and beautiful views of the mountains in all directions. We just drove through the park because we had extra time to kill before heading to the airport to leave, but this would be an awesome place for a mountain bike, ATV, hiking, or even just a picnic lunch. And free!

Sometimes you never notice the beautiful things in your life until you really open your eyes.

Nice place the whole year. This is the area where the the water is pumped up for Reykjavík city so partly it is off limits with high fences guarding the water supplies.

This is a very beautiful park, it has marked trails and benches if you want to bring food with you. The best way to get there is by car and there is plenty of parking.
