This was the best thing we did in Iceland. The dogs were so friendly, excited and the experience was something I'll never forget. You get to take turns in different positions on the sled or co-mushing, it was safe and so unique. Worth the cost and so much fun. Lots of time with the dogs too!

This was one of the best experiences during our trip to Iceland. Klara was wonderful and the whole crew really made sure that everyone had time with the dogs and had a chance to mush.

Our trip was during the winter and the location was moved from the farm to just out of Reykjavik. While we missed out on seeing all the dogs we got to sled on snow on the highland plains with the snow capped mountains in the distance.

If doing this in the winter dress warmly (but they do provide additional warm suits, gloves, and glasses).

Had such great time. If you love dogs this a is a must do.

In summer you makeshift sled through paddocks, which sounds lame but we were having such a great time hearing about the dogs and watching them. All 5 of us had grins ear to ear, it was really funny watching the dogs as they all had different personalities and quirks.

This trip is more about loving animals and meeting them than it is about an adrenaline rush.

The staff were super nice and we were given so much time to meet all the dogs, introduced one by one.

We visited yesterday. The dogs are all healthy, happy, friendly and really good runners. Not to mention oh so cute and fluffy! The fields are by the river and gives you a beautiful view of Eyjafjallajökull and Katla in the distance. The guide Max was very helpful and upbeat. It was a really fun experience for us.

Pas d'autres mots pour décrire le plaisir que nous avons eu à faire le dogsledding en Islande. Une tempête de neige nous a empêchés de faire l'activité le jour prévu (prévenu le matin, de nouveaux créneaux horaires nous ont été proposés) ; nous avons donc réalisé notre tour sur le site dry-land de Holmasel (avec de la neige !). Fantastique : les chiens sont tous adorables (avec chacun leur caractère bien différent) et on pourrait passer la journée à leur faire des câlins. L'équipe est incroyable : un chocolat chaud à l'arrivée amené par Klara (qui d'ailleurs parle très bien Français, ce qui a simplifié beaucoup de choses pour nous lors des modifications de dates !), Sigri reste à nos yeux le champion incontesté pour sortir les 4x4 bloqués dans la neige.

Bref, une expérience inoubliable que nous recommandons sans hésitations !

We exceptionally enjoyed this experience, even on dry land. The dogs were super friendly superstars, thinking about them puts a big smile on my face! Siggi, Klara and her crew were very welcoming, giving us useful facts about Iceland and dogs. We could tell that these dogs were really cared for and this made the experience all the more enjoyable. They also had a few puppies which we had the pleasure of meeting, we would love to see how this litter progress as they are a new breed.
The kennels where about 90 minutes out of Reykjavik and if driving, you will experience loose dirt roads. Make sure you have a full tank. Note: no on-site lavatories.
The booking process was a not the simplest, we nearly abandoned the booking due to payment security concerns. Luckily Klara was so kind to give us a call-back and arranged an exception to accept payment on the day. I would like to see an option to see available days and make an instant booking online. They also offer collection from Reykyavik, but driving there was easy enough east along road 1, then 33, then east along Villingaholtsvegur until Hólmasel.
Would definitely recommend everybody who visits Iceland to go dogsledding, even if you are not a dog lover - this is a fantastic experience. This location is also great for viewing the aurora borealis.
