Great place! Clean/comfortable rooms, lovely views, excellent breakfast and kindly hosts! Highly recommended!
Beautiful location and amazing views! The room was great - super cute, cozy, and had everything we needed, the owners were very friendly, great breakfast spread. Lovely common area where dinner is served family style and guests are invite to hang out and get to know each other in a warm and cozy environment.
Great experience: super friendly staff, delicious dinner and breakfast and awesome location near some of the top sights of Ireland. Come here and be happy!
Beautiful glacier view; with clear sky can see northern lights there. Owner family is very friendly.
I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. This was by far my favourite place we stayed in Iceland. For starters it's in a beautiful location. The hosts were so kind and just great people overall. We had an incredible dinner with the hosts and their family. Some of the nicest lamb I've ever bad (from the farmer next door! Proper organic and free range). A real Icelandic experience. I can't recommend this enough. Amazing.
Loved this placedinner was great too.
This place is the absolute essence of Icelandic guesthouse hospitality. The owners were just lovely, sat with us -- just chatting over tea -- for over an hour. We got to listen to a rare recording of Bjork's punk band from the early 80s, Tappi Tikarrass. The food was great -- best breakfast we had in Iceland by far. The rooms were comfortable and stylish. Oh, and at 15,000 krona (in late Sept) this is wonderful value. Couldn't recommend the place more.
This is a great place to stay along the Ring Road in Southern Iceland. There are pretty views of a glacier , private bathrooms with nice showers, and a lovey hostess with outstanding breakfast including homemade breads, pancakes, cheeses , yogurts, cereals, coffee, juice, fruits, fish, and meats.
It is off the beaten path, which is why we were drawn to it. If you want to be surrounded by a town or shops, do not stay here.
There was supper offered to us for 6500 ISK which equals to a little over 60 US dollars per person. The dinner is three courses , and homemade. We decided not to have the dinner , but it smelled amazing and the dining area is very cozy with beautiful views.
The place has two main cons, which is why I gave it 4 stars over 5:
1. The wifi is slow, which made it difficult for us to relax and enjoy a movie for the evening after a long day of traveling. This is likely due to the remote location of the place.
2. The price for a room is significantly higher compared to other comparable places we stayed at. If dinner were included in the high price for a room, it would have been worth it, but instead dinner was offered at 6500 ISK per person.
Glacier View Guesthouse is overall an outstanding place to stay!
Really nice place! And really nice people! Totally recomend it!
Not really very good. The rooms are inside of some strange small boxes with a giant window facing the parking lot. They're not very spacious at all, our front door had a very hard time closing, and it's hard to emphasize this enough: the wifi is dreadful. The existence of wifi in the room was more like a taunt than anything else, for all practical purposes it was unusable. To top it all off, there isn't really much of a glacier view (you can just barely see the top of one in the distance)
Beautiful, quiet, and friendly.
Amazing hosts!
Nice geusthouse
