Magnificent series of waterfalls, with a large horseshoe main fall. There is a car park with easy access done to the falls where the roar and spray can be felt. A humbling force of nature that provides a spectacular experience. A must place visit if you are in Iceland.

A stunning multi-level waterfall along a geological faultline and at pretty much the furthest part of the 'Golden Circle' away from Reykjavik. Right on the main road which is easy to follow with decent surface it is easy to find, free to park and free to visit with a large cafe/restaurant there. Well maintained stairs and walkways provide good access to various different view points. If you don't 'do' stairs, there are two car parks - upper and lower levels which will give you multiple views without having to climb stairs if that is an issue to you. Stunning sight with multi-faceted drops at different angles as the water drops into the fissure opening up between the two tectonic plates. Well worth the drive. :-)

Did this during winter and I would have to say that it was one of the most spectacular water falls I have ever seen. It was half frozen, which made it even more wonderful. There are two parking areas. One for 2 wheel drive cars and one of 4x4s. 2 wheels arsa is up a few steps but they are easy enough to make up(even in winter) 4x4 area is right next to the falls and has some great pictures with in a few feet of the parking lot.

Amazing waterfalls set in stunning scenery. Pretty much a must see on any visit to Iceland and not too far from the Geyser. Our tour company included a meal at the restaurant close by which was good. That place is quite an expensive tourist trap otherwise tho

Was there just a week ago. Beautiful. If you go in summer you'll enjoy the drive. Don't drive yourself I the winter months, the roads are treacherous for drivers not experienced with local conditions.

Impressive waterfalls with a walk along a few viewing levels Well worth a visit but will probably be included in all 'Golden Circle' tours.
Quite a few people but not so busy as to detract from the visit or block the obligatory photos.
Restaurants, Cafe, Souvenir, Hotel complex at car park for a warm up after and by now you should be used to Icelandic prices enough to stop your jaw hitting the floor.

Nice waterfall. Nothing special really. And £62 for 2 x bowls of soup and 2 x coffees was a little over the top. The golden circle tour was good but wouldn't go back to Iceland again.

Winter view was unbelievable and just mesmerising to watch the beautiful combination of the frozen water trying to get through the moving water.A serene and very easy drive, coffee shop/eatery there and a huge souvenir shop. If you go in Winter and aren't so steady on your feet then i would suggest either a walking pole or hang onto a family member because some areas can get a little slippery with the ice/snow compacted on the trail. There is an easy to get to spot to walk to and if you can do stairs then pop down below to get an even more awesome view! Phenomenal sight and nature at its best in Winter!!!

Stopped of here after a windy snowy drive, along with about two dozen buses. Lots of people, but still a wonderful place. Walk along the path down to the river or stay high for some really great photo opportunities. Selfies too. Sun is in the right location. Stop off at lunch time and enjoy a bowl of lamb soup. Very good but not cheap.

Spectacular waterfall, easy access but mobbed with tourists. There are better ones if you have the means to travel and are prepared to walk. Still well worth seeing though.

Impressive waterfall with a shop at the top by a car park. There is also another car park closer which is accessible from a turning on the right before the main building.
Beautiful place but absolutely freezing cold (in December).

There are just too many sites in Iceland that are magnificent. Yep, 5 star must see stops. The only downside is having to drive through some equally beautiful country to experience these sites.

Delicious food and friendly service. It wasn't very expensive, but I recommend sticking to drinks and soups. Those are amazing! The sandwiches and everything else are pretty lackluster and disappointing for the price. You can also find outlets by the seating to be able to charge your phone while you're there! Bathrooms are very nice, too!

This is a beautiful waterfall with a double cascade. Getting to areas within the park may be challenging to someone with mobility issues due to the distances and the grade of the path. Also the falls throw a lot of mist which adds to the beauty, but this also can make the trail slick.

Unbelievable! The size of this waterfall is out of this world! When you climb the stairs to the view point it really gives you the perspective when you see the size of people next to it. You have to be careful when closer by as the rocks are wet.

The waterfall pretty much carves its way through the landscape and then dramatically and powerfully falls into the pool below.

This spot off the Golden Circle has a breathtaking view of a huge waterfall. There are many tourists there, but it is still serene and beautiful. You can walk up close to the falls and feel the mist from the falls spraying you. This is a must-see if you are in the area.

Very beautiful waterfall. Visit both levels. Maybe the top first to build up to a better climax. Bring a raincoat. Unfortunately the sun was not out when we visited, I understand that the rainbow caused by the fall is a sight onto itself.

Beautiful waterfall! I grew up near Toronto and we went to Niagara Falls each summer, but I strongly prefer Gullfoss as far as waterfalls go. The way they have it set up is also a far more immersive experience than Niagara. They have a decent gift shop too, although it seems more focused on general Iceland merchandise than it does on Gullfoss-specific items. The only complaint I have is that it seems that the number of tourists they get seems to have outgrown their parking lot.

Amazing stop on the Golden Circle! There are 2 parking lots, one that doesn't require walking down stairs to the falls. I personally liked parking in the higher one as the walk down accentuated the vastness of this waterfall.

Get as close as possible to the falls to experience the power and sheer size of the falls it's so misty towards the bottom you can't even see where the falls ends. You'll get a bit wet though so bring a rain jacket!

Gullfoss is, in a way, the Niagara Falls of Iceland - it is commercialized and has a ton of visitors. That said, it is still a wide and majestic waterfall! It is just a short, easy walk from the parking lot. Perhaps a visit would benefit from arriving early in the morning (or very late). I personally preferred narrower/weaker but more secluded waterfalls.

Great, huge waterfall worth seeing. Free bathrooms are available in the big building. You have to pay for the ones in the small building. Large variety of souvenirs available. Wooden paths with no steps are available for a panoramic view from the top so its wheelchair and stroller friendly. Different story for the view from the bottom. There is a set of stairs to get to there from the top or you can drive and park in the parking lot down there. It's a pretty easy hike to get closer to the waterfall. It's a descending dirt trail with a rocky uneven surface at the end so watch your step.

Fantastic waterfall with a huge girth! The park provides a few trails to see the falls from various angles and distances. A new set of stairs were being built as I showed up to replace the old wooden ones. They also had some trails closed due to the weather but I'd imagine it would be great in the summer! There's a cafe/restaurant and souvenir shop near the parking lot with some good food! No drones aloud on site.

This waterfall was so magical to be there in person. I could sit here for hours and just day dream. It was huge and there was plenty of spots to stand. I recommend going in the morning before everybody wake up. It can be crowded and busy when everybody is awake and is here.
