Had the peppered horse steak and it was done perfectly. Good portions and sauce was tasty.
Lamb was terrible. As with the rest of Iceland, very expensive
There is an inn attached to the restaurant, where we stayed on our first night in Iceland. The food seemed to be on the expensive side, given our first meal was at IKEA. HOWEVER, I felt it was totally worth it! We tried the shrimp dish and the horse steak fillet, and both are amazing. The shrimp dish comes with 8 shrimps in assorted flavours: coconut, cheese, Cajun, and almond with 2 dipping sauces. The horse steak first looked burnt from the outside, but don't be fooled! The inside is just the right amount of done-ness, very tender and flavourful! I unfortunately sat at a booth facing a small photograph on the wall, of two adorable Icelandic horses oh why are they so cute and delicious!!! *cue Homer Simpson eating pet lobster Pinchy*
Food was great, service was better! Our waitress was so charming and gave us free tiramasu, thanks!
The fish and chips were amazing. My children had the pizza, which was also very good. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Great place for a quick bite while sight seeing in Iceland.
The place just don't look so spécial but we had a nice time and a nice dinner et that restaurant. The icelandic meat soup was délicious and the fish plate also.
Great little restaurant in hella get the soup, it is very good.
The staff is what sets this place apart. I lost my phone and the waiter took the effort to look on the security cameras and see what happened to it. Long story short, I got my phone back and they gave us some cookies to celebrate.
Had the fish and chips which everybody raves about. And it did not disappoint. Beautifully moist pieces of fish in a light crispy batter. Chips were ok. A tad dry, perhaps, but altogether rather good still.
But also had their special, which was labeled "Fried slices of lamb with fries and sauce". Now this was an incredible dish. I generally don't like lamb because of the strong gamey taste it tends to have (back where I'm from), but this lamb had absolutely no gamey taste at all. It had a delicious meaty flavor with a perfect char on its surface. Together with the sauce (which I couldn't quite place; was creamy and buttery and satisfying), the combination was amazing.
Very good fish and chips for 2900 ISK, the potatoes seems home made, the salad is fresh and the fish succulent.
The quantity of the plates is enough for adults, if you can't eat everything they offer a box to bring the rests.
People working there are very friendly.
It is just missing a child's menu to be cheaper for family.
I saw other reviews before going in. We must be very unlucky.. me ordered hamburger for 1400isk and my mate had coffee and egg&ham sandwich. It is way to simple like microwaved foods. My burger is pretty much a thin frozen patty and buns~ no green no cheese. Maybe people would say 1400Isk is consider cheap meal in Iceland. My mate got two slices is white bread, a sunny side top egg and 1 slide of ham + ketchup. My experience is to avoid these two and try others which recommended by others reviewers.
excellent food and service!!! pretty good prices for a small town.
Nice burgers and nice place!
Amazing fish and chips. Nice character and beer on tap.
Yummy and fresh fish and chips.
Ordered chicken burger but they gave us chicken nuggets instead. Waiter must have mistakenly heard our order. Because we are too hungry we just eat it. And is delicious.
But the fish and chip is a must try. Fresh tasty fish.
Hella decent burgers. Fries could be better but overall, hella edible.
