AVOID!
Yes, I did make a non-refundable reservation. But, on the same day I realized that the date is one day off. (Note the reservation date is more than 3 months away). I tried to call the hotel immediately multiple times and got no answered. We are notified one week later that they won't refund a bit. Such awesome customer service.response / report this review -

Though the rooms are clean and comfortable, found the morning staff doing breakfast pretty bad. Too busy on their phones keeping things topped up. Breakfast is badly laid out, no flow at all. It looked.empty half the time, orange and apple juice left in cartons and not put in jugs, had to keep asking for things and though it all tasted good it just seemed a very unprofessional service to what, and let's face it, is not a cheap hotel and totally souless, should have been a memorable stay. The worst Foss hotel we have stayed in. Sort it out.

Very nice hotel in a lovely little village with scenic view of the bay and cliffs. The room was very comfortable and good sized. The staff was friendly. The breakfast very good and dinner at the restaurant also good, though a little pricey. The village has a local swimming pool, but there are better free hot springs in the area that are more authentic. If you don’t get seasick I would recommend taking the ferry to get to the westfjords since some of the roads are very bad.

Clean room, but that's about the only good thing. Wifi did not work in the room. Breakfast was basic cereal, toast & jam. Front desk staff friendly but did not go out of their way for you.

Clean modern rooms. Friendly staff. The restaurant was accommodating when we showed up about 15 minutes before closing, good food.

Was just OK due to various annoyances, such as nowhere nice outside of the room to sit -- lobby too small to hold more than a couple chairs, no outside furniture. Wifi was worse than terrible, too slow to even retrieve e-mail, visiting website was an exercise in frustration. Only 2 TV channels, neither worth watching. I've been in rented RV's that had larger showers. Shower curtain hung outside of the shower stall, causing a minor flood on floor. Our room was on sunny (water) side which meant that the full blast of the sun hit the room until 10pm(ish), making room unbearably hot -- no A/C to cool it off, only 1 little window would open but opening it made for too much noise to sleep due to road just outside of window. In-room fridge made so much noise and was so hot (i.e. on its outside) that I ended up unplugging it. Very nice breakfast included in price of room. Staff friendly.

The hotel is nice. Dinner at the restaurant was very good. The breakfast was okay. The wifi did not work in my room at all.

Not too many hotel options in this area, this hotel was pretty basic but in a central location in this small town. This is an Icelandic hotel chain and I believe the rates were pretty reasonable by Icelandic standards.

Really nice cozy, reasonably priced hotel with friendly and knowledgable staff. They have a really good buffet breakfast and the room has an amazing view to the mountains. The only downfall is that it's shower curtain was a bit narrow so it's easy to splash the water out onto the floor and the internet isn't the best which is to be expected in a small town like this. Overall a great experience though!

Well situated, modern, clean, professionally staffed hotel. Located seemingly in the middle of nowhere, you drive for hours on deserted roads, then suddenly you come upon Patreksfjordur and this clean, crisp hotel. A very welcome sight.
Check in is quick and professional, on par with any Marriott, Hilton, or Hyatt. Rooms are clean, modern, well equipped with sufficient lights and chairs. Beds comfortable and towels/linens clean and crisp. Staff are friendly, helpful, and informative, happy to give suggestions on where to eat or find a good spot to watch the sunset.
Breakfast excellent, plenty of hard boiled eggs, sliced meats, freshly baked bread, skyr (of course), cereal, and sliced fresh fruit. Tea, coffee, apple juice, and orange juice were available.
We would like to go back to the west fjords again, and would definitely stay at the FossHotel.response / report this review
