Wonderful hotel. The museum attached was interesting and the restaurant was incredible. Beautiful views in a charming town.

One of the best hotels I've ever been at. The dishes at the restaurant are really good, although they are a little bit expensive even for Icelandic standards. But the best best thing was the view of the fjord (especially at sunrise).

Nice room with everything. The little museum is quite nice.
However the city is quite smelly (fish) so you cannot really open the window
The restaurant is expensive without many choices.

Fantastic hotel. Very nice and clean and the restaurant was wonderful! In a very cute and quaint town, with nice surprises. I would absolutely stay here again.

The best hotel we stayed in, by far! Rooms, staff, breakfast and location where just perfect AND affordable. We had a view over the lake, met the hotel manager who was just too kind and let us try the Iceland shark dish. There is a French museum that connects the two building accross the street, small but nice to visit. This is included for guests. Breakfast also one of the best we had during our road trip, a lot to chose from and the cook is continiously checking if all is well. 5 stars, no doubt!

This was my favorite stay in Iceland. The rooms are just gorgeous and we really appreciated the warming racks in the bathroom. The location is perfect, right on the harbour. The breakfast was simple but very tasty we appreciated not having to purchase food for one meal, as food in Iceland is very expensive. Would highly recommend staying here and visiting the East Fjords :)

Located right on the water with beautiful view of fjord. Room was nicely decorated. Bed was super comfy. Bathroom was a little cramped, only a curtain separating shower from toilet so water got everywhere. TERRIBLE water pressure and no toiletries :c But would still recommend.

Pretty rooms with a stunning view across the water. The area was once a French settlement for foreign fishermen. The beautifully repurposed hotel used to be a French hospital and has a small museum giving detail on this history. There is also an excellent French restaurant.

Such a lovely hotel! We came in March, and it was quite and peaceful. Our room was bright, modern and clean with lake view. Wish we could stay longer!

We had a deluxe room on the second floor overlooking the fjord. We only stayed a night, but wished we could've stayed longer to fully enjoy the hotel. The heated towel racks were a nice touch. The reception staff were super friendly and offered helpful tips for the area.

Beautiful setting, quiet, clean, spacious and modern rooms. It's quiet in the winter season, which is good!
Breakfast is the usual cold breakfast, but you can also make your own waffles.
There is an interesting museum under the hotel with mannequins that are a bit too life like!response / report this review -

A lovely themed hotel of an old French Hospital converted into a hotel. It has two buildings, one the reception and one for the rooms and restaurant. They are separated by a road. There is a path under the road connecting the two buildings which is a sort of small museum. The restaurant and the rooms have excellent views of the fjords and the ice capped mountains in the distance. A fabulous place in a cute little town.
