We had lunch at the restaurant and ice cream afterwards. We ordered a burger, soup and children's burger. The kids meal was essentially the same size as the full size burger and both were tasty. Soup was wonderful. Prices are comparable to elsewhere in Iceland. The dining room was very clean and we sat overlooking the barn. My daughter loved looking at the cows. Afterwards we enjoyed ice cream downstairs.

The decor was amazing. The ice cream is second to none. I highly recommend visiting if you are ever doing the Golden Circle or are in Reykjavik for a day. Swing by Thingvellir on the way back and you have a pretty good drive. The staff are kind and helpful. Lots of interesting information about dairy farms and the process of making dairy products. Great afternoon break.

Burger was great, nice location on a hill. Had mixed feelings to have a view at the cows when you are enjoying your burger. Overall a good place though! Also very beautiful interior. Heard the ice cream is creamy and something you should get when you are there

The ice cream here is indeed very good and very creamy. The ice cream cone was superb. Eating my ice cream while staring at a cows ass, not as good.
Generally if you feel like eating ice cream do stop with no regrets, but don't feel obliged to check it out just because it's on the golden circle guides. If you are accustomed to cows and they are not an attraction for you, it's just good ice cream.response / report this review -

We were not guest at the farm. We now know you can stay in the guest house. We visited the farm as a part of a larger tour. We got samples of the cheese, skyr, liquid whey, and ice cream! All were delicious and presented in a fun way. We got the history of the farm as we were sampling the food. This is a nice place and a good way to learn about Icelandic farming and dairy production.

The ice cream is amazing. Though the dinner was just good. Sadly, my burger would have been better if it wasn't overcooked. I requested rare and received well done. Will return for dessert!!

We stopped by for dinner, and we're very happy with our meal! Between us we ordered the steak sandwich (delicious, but give up on the idea of eating it without a knife and fork) and the veggie steak (like a giant homemade veggie burger, oddly delicious). Both tasted good, and the prices were normal for Iceland. They had a decent beer selection, a cool converted dining space with a view into the cow barn, and helpful advice on what food to pick. The ice cream available downstairs was excellent, so it's worth stopping here even if it's not for a full meal.

Visited the restaurant on a Sunday evening in December - very quiet and were the only people there so minimal staff as expected moderately priced for the high quality food you get! Ice cream was fantastic! Make sure you don’t leave without having it (very big portions)
Had a beef Teflon and would recommend it!

An amazing cafe with delicious home made ice cream! You can enjoy multiple flavours of lovely ice cream, on the farm it was made! The cafe has windows through into the barn so you can see the gorgeous cows themselves! Also a hotel. 3 beautiful well-behaved dogs also spotted outside with the tractors!
Well worth a visit even in winter (hot coffee and a tub of ice cream is perfect!). Quite a steep hill up to the farm which can get icy in winter so take care.response / report this review -

Probably the best food of Iceland can be found here. Especially recommending the icecream! This is more commercial than you might expect from a farm, but it didn't bother me.

Situated in between some of the golden circle stops, this hotel, cafe, restaurant or farm makes a good stopover be it for tired legs or hungry stomach.
Didn't tried the food but they have a decent range of choices for the ice cream. Not too sweet in my opinion. Btw the cafe has two big windows showing you the farm, check out the cute calves!response / report this review -

Very nice place, awesome staff willing to go the extra miles to accommodate us. We stopped on a limb to check out the horses as we wanted to go horseback riding and we ended up having lunch. Efstidalur is also a dairy farm, so a stop at their wonderful ice cream counter is a must!

This place is an amazing, all in one, shop. From fresh made ice cream with a view inside the dairy barn to horse riding to a waterfall, it has it all. Everyone is super friendly. Prices are good. The food is some of best I've ever had. The meat and vegetables are locally sourced and don't have filler added. There is a full bar and Icelandic beer on tap.
I highly recommend a stop here for anyone going on the Golden Circle, even if you only have enough time for ice cream. If you need a place to stay, stay here.response / report this review -

Absolutely wonderful dinner and atmosphere. We enjoyed the history, the cows and information as well as the service and delicious food. If you are travelling the Golden Circle I highly recommend a quick stop at the cafe or a lovely meal in the restaurant.

Went for dinner on a suggestion from someone who just ate there - glad we acted on it. Watch the farm's residence enjoy their meal while you enjoy yours. We didn't do dessert which I'm now sorry for because I heard the ice cream is great.

Lovely place, very relaxing. The food was amazing! The area is very authentic and family friendly. The room had floor heating and a very confortable bed. Note that the farm smell can be very strong (which is not a negative point in my opinion but may be a shock to some).

Whole much tempted by the incredible smell of burgers upstairs ($26+), I decided to settle for ice cream! Oreo was great ($4.00) and nicer to have the company of the cows behind the window. Working farm and app worth a visit!

Adorable place with so much character and history. And the FOOD! We had the burgers for dinner - AMAZING! Followed by ice cream from their cows. And the breakfast - complete with their own Skyr. This place is a MUST!

A working farm that also runs a restaurant and makes their own ice cream. It's a great stop on the golden circle for lunch. Lots of seating, smells mildly like cows because you can literally look at them through the window, but the food is fresh and tasty! Couldn't try the ice cream because it wasn't pasteurized.
