Excellent apartments for travelers. Very convenient kitchen in the studio. Facilities for washing and additional toilets for guests. Amazing host with lots of suggestions and simple check-in process. Overall 5 stars to the place.

We had 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms for 8 of us . Fabulous apartment well equipped very clean! What more could you want? Staff were also very pleasant and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend for central Reykjavik.

We went as a group of 8 for NYE and had booked a 4 x "double room" apartment as it looked really nice on the website and was situated 5 minutes walk from down town Reykjavik, upon getting there we quickly realised that this was not the apartment that we had booked and not one image on the website was of the apartment we were in, walls had been knocked down, the lounge had been made in to a bedroom making the lounge/kitchen feel very cramped , the apartment had 3 double rooms and one tiny cupboard with two small single beds jammed in, In this, what could only be described as a box room, the under-floor heating was stuck on making the room too hot to be in for longer than 5 minutes, nevermind to sleep in.

We raised this with the building manager to be told "It's not my fault those stupid chinese people like it to be 30°, turn it down to 22 degrees and make sure all of the thermostats in the apartment are the same", we turned off every room completely and the heat still hadn't reduced in an hour or two, so we raised this with the building manager again to be told "Why did you turn it off, it's -5 outside, are you stupid?" and "You need to leave it on 22° because this heats the full building" Not the best way to deal with your paying guests needs.

After leaving all windows and the patio doors in one of the rooms open for the duration of our time there, the temperature dropped making it a comfortable temperature, it still wasn't cold at all.

The reason I'm not giving this place 1 star is because on new years eve, the landlord had bought about 20 boxes/cakes of fireworks (apparently an icelandic tradition for the man in the house), and let them off directly outside of the hotel - some might say this was a safety issue but it was a very close up, in your face firework display and this was great.

When booking, I would strongly recommend thoroughly checking the room against the pictures on the website when you first go in and raising it if anything is different immediately, That said I don't think they will help you as the customer service was terrible throughout our stay.

In the end we made do with the apartment because we wanted to enjoy our time in Iceland over NYE. I'm not sure I would recommend Downtown Reykjavik Apartments as a place to stay whilst here, We drew straws for the "box room" (literally what it was) meaning one couple had a very uncomfortable stay, however, it is very close to the center and was comfortable for the ones who weren't stuck in the box room.

To the owners here, keep up the firework displays, we loved it. Maybe try to be less of a racist when speaking about an entire demographic of people and think more from your guests perspective, if they are too hot (even when it's -5 outside!), help them turn down the heating and most of all please be transparent on your website, if the apartment is a 3 bedroom apartment with 3 double beds then say this, don't cram a couple of children's sized beds in to a cupboard and try to claim it as a bedroom. There were wardrobes and bedside tables in all of the other bedrooms and you physically couldn't fit anything but the two beds in the box room, A double sized bed definitely wouldn't fit in. This was a blatant lie and if it wasn't for the location of the place and the fireworks, this would be a 1 star review.

We rented the 4 bedroom apartment abbr it was great. Clean, lots of comfortable beds. Good kitchen. Perfect for a long trip with a lot of people. Great views too from the balcony.

Self check-in. It offers free WiFi, all kitchen facilities with dishwasher and a wide seating & dinning area. The beauty of the city can be watched from the balcony and windows. Free public laundry is located in the basement but it was out of order during my stay.
It is close to the main shopping street, Laugavegur, Sculpture and shore walk, and the towers of the Hallgrímskirkja Church
Finally, the flybus can be pick up outside the apartment.

It was ok. Good idea to have a place where you can cook some meals bcuz eating out in Reykjavik is expensive. Not enough parking spots. Not having additional keys was a pain.

Fantastic place to stay on a budget. Desk person was friendly and helpful. Room was nice. Private bathroom was a major bonus. Tiny kitchen was great.

Poor service! Money charged in advance and the landlord refused to refund in the beginning! Maybe a good place, but the apartment owner, impressive. Sent me the message which tells me to find another place when I was waiting for the flight to Iceland! Good luck, guys.

Stayed two nights in October 2016 coming back from the south coast. Pleasantly surprised with the standard studio - well stocked kitchenette, a small dining area and best of all, laundry facilities in the basement. Good location and decent wifi. It's nothing fancy and there's minimal staff contact, but it was exactly what we needed halfway through our trip.
