Just off the main road you might not see it if you are coming down the mountain. The mountain road was pretty bad while driving around in our campervan in late May. Gov usually fixes up the road in early June since the wet season is finally over but the tourism hasn't peaked. There is a 5min hike from the pull off lookout point to the waterfall.

All waterfalls are different and this one is not exclusion. See as much as you can waterfalls in Iceland. There aro so many which are not even on maps.

Nice "little" waterfall just off the road. Takes about 10 mins to get there from the main highway. I say "little" because its not that small but there are so many waterfalls in iceland that this was is considered little.

It's a small walk to the base of the waterfall. We enjoyed it and would visit again given the chance.

Such a nice little waterfall, off the beaten path. We were so happy to find a place not crawling with tourists. This was a picturesque place for a quick pit stop on our long journey around the ring road (although technically not on the ring road). The road to get here from Egilsstaðir was a bit treacherous, but worth it.

Great little waterfall! Sure, there are more grand waterfalls in Iceland, but this was our favorite. It's easy to get to and you can get up close. Not many people around so you can have some time to yourself.

Nice waterfall off the beaten path (literally, expect gravel roads, even the Rt 1 leading up to 939). I wouldn't drive out of the way for this, but stop and plan a picnic break with view of Folaldafoss will break up the trip nicely.

Stumbled into this waterfall by chance, it is few minutes after turning into the unpaved route 939 driving towards direction. The waterfall is beautiful, worth a short detour. There's a small parking on the side, can accommodate about 5-6 the max.

It's sort of a hidden gem. Not very hidden but if you take the secondary route between Egilsstaðir and Höfn you'll see it as you come down the mountain on the right side. Very short hike down a stream that feeds into the stream from the falls. You can get up front to the falls by climbing on some of the rocks but I wouldn't suggest it if you don't like the idea of walking on wet rocks. Nonetheless, there's never anyone there and it's worth having a look!
