Experience the unique charm of staying in the Isle of Man’s oldest surviving windmill. Once known as the Witches Mill, this historic landmark was a central hub for British witchcraft during the 1950s and 60s, playing a pivotal role in the emergence of modern Wicca. Long before the tales of Rowling, Potter, and Hogwarts, this mill was steeped in magical history. Now transformed from a ruined mill tower into a stunning four-storey cottage, it features four bedrooms and a glass rooftop offering breathtaking panoramic views of the island’s southern landscape. The interior is thoughtfully designed to evoke a sense of mystery and enchantment, making it a perfect getaway for those who appreciate a touch of the extraordinary.
Unlike other windmill-converted residences, the Witches Mill offers a convenient location just a 6-minute walk from Castletown Center, where you’ll find Castle Rushen, along with various shops, bars, and restaurants. Arriving from the Ronaldsway Airport only takes a 7-minute drive. Almost all buses linking Douglas with the south stop by the bus stop just outside our cottage. It represents a good example of a charming IOM city cottage.
