Often have dinner here. I like the way they keep updating the menu, as we go through the seasons, or even months of current local produce availability. Food always served piping hot. Really nice staff. Eclectic dishes, and decent sized mains extras. However way too much garlic in the homemade burger. It would be better to have a smaller size too. I suppose that is a good complaint 😁😁. Yummy fries!

The pub is divided into 3 levels. They old man's pub style on the lower level (with the cheapest pint) a maze amine at the front and an upper level where there is music sometimes. There food is top notch and there bar staff are great. They will even do you a slow pint. (If someone buys you a pint in a round and they see you are drinking a bit slower than the others they'll watch how you are going and then deliver the fresh pint just as you are draining the dregs from your empty glass. A real touch of class. Also for literary history buffs, James Joyce's mum May Murray was born there.

Staff couldn't be more rude. Came in with my parents for a Sunday evening drink. I am a local. The first greeting was we were told we couldn't sit down as tables were for people eating! There were 10 or more empty tables. Looked for other seats. Pub full so asked barman if we could sit in one of the 10 empty tables to which he replied to look elsewhere, there should be loads. Said there wasn't and he sighed in our face. Unbelievable considering we had just spent 35e buying a round and snacks. Then we sat down and waitress approached again to tell us to move. I explained that we had 'permission' to sit down to which she rolled her eyes and walked away. Will DEFINITELY not be back and will tell all to avoid.
