The lamb and clams were tasty, the brill was ok and the panna cotta was more like a yogurt.
Outstanding food, service and ambience. One of the best restaurants in Westport.
Went on one of the food tours here with Aine, and it was amazing! Such an incredible experience and a fantastic way to get to know local food and producers - couldn't recommend it highly enough!
Excellent food. Perfect service - Rebecca. A quiet romantic evening for us.
Beautiful interior, much like a modern cottage. Food is delightful. A little bit expensive, but in my opinion, worth it
I'm glad to read the other reviews. I took a group of private English students from Switzerland to Ireland many years ago and we went here. It was just as described in the other reviews- excellent food, service and atmosphere!
Gorgeous food in a gorgeous setting! I would highly recommend, if you can get a table. Reserve ahead, if you can and if you can, enjoy. Superb food at reasonable prices and a menu to suit the conservative and adventurous.
There are so many things to like about the Quay Cottage - the intimate lighting, nautical decor, the highly professional and welcoming staff. But all of this with the addition of the freshest and most delicious fish dishes you could wish for, make this a place to come back to again and again. This has to be one of the best restaurants in Ireland - I'd challenge anyone to eat here and disagree. The detail now: langoustines like baby sea-monsters bathing in a buttery bath with a perfect balance of garlic, citrus and red chilli soft and fragrant gravadlax, followed by thin slices of monkfish lightly caramelised under a grill and giving just the right balance of crisp and meltingly soft. The snowy herb-crusted hake on its bed of pea puree was fabulous too. Add to this a wonderful bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and just the right amount of attention from owner Kirsten and the fabulous Pascale, and you have a perfect evening. We were already star-struck by the beauties of Westport and Clew Bay the meal at the Quay Cottage made coming back here a necessity.
