Love this hotel, stayed here every year for the past four years. Great location for city locations. Lovely staff, reception and bar restaurant. Our only criticism is the chefs in the kitchen have no love in presenting food, it’s very bland and often served Luke warm. No care in presenting good food.

It's time for a makeover in the Met Bar, the main bar of the Metropole Hotel. The photo of the bar on the hotel website does not look like the bar we were sitting in. It's tired now and could do with some glamming up. Staff are efficient but not very friendly, we ordered a pint and a prosecco. The latter could have been more chilled. Only advantage is that it was not busy at all on a Saturday night which meant plenty of seating available. Great location

I booked a room for a night during the Jazz festival. I enjoyed the outdoor activities around and when I came there at 8pm to check in.no room they were thinking thaz I am not coming and they sell my room to someone else. They find me another hotel which was nice but not in the center.

    P.S actually B.S.
They told me that the water pipe burst in the room so that they don't have a room for me.

We visited the Metropole during the Cork Jazz Festival because we were told they were the most child friendly place in town and they were right! Face painting, puppet shows, ice cream - all great fun and making life easier for parents who wanted to enjoy the jazz in a beautiful hotel.

Nina made our stay so enjoyable! We have been traveling from Dublin and throughout Southern Ireland and so far our stay in Cork has been our favourite! From an amazing room to assistance with dinner and breakfast she has been an amazing help! The hotel is beautifully updated and the view is breathtaking! Drinking fresh pressed coffee on the veranda has topped the stay! Thank you Nina and the rest of the amazing staff!

I have stayed here a number of times because it is well located and is close to everything that I want to see while in the city. They claim that you get the best price by booking directly with them rather than thought any third party and that does appear to be true to some extent.

I was interested in booking a room for two nights in July 2017 [I plan well in advance] and the best price that I could get through any of the well known services was Euro 198.00 for two nights which is exactly the same as what was available booking through the hotels website. However, if I paid in advance the price via the hotel’s site was Euro 178.20. [To be fair the 10% reduction is available up to 7 days before the actually stay however I am willing to bet that the prices will have increased between now and next July].

I have given four rather than five stars because I have had street noise issues in the past and also because I consider the pricing to be a bit on the high side.
