Dated rooms with little to no WiFi reception in key locations in the hotel. The vibe of the place is more youth and backpacker now. The rooms and main areas are not cleaned often. We found bugs and dust in both room and main dining area. The food was passable but options limited. I give two stars due to the location but I'd recommend just visiting and not staying over.

I gave up in the end. All staff looked like they were in a gap year. We asked 3 times for a plate, never arrived. My wife ate off a paper towel.

My ceasar salad was undressed and without some ingredient.

Wait staff never made eye contact and it felt like we were blacklisted. Maybe it was australian accent.

It needs new owners.

Staff were frendily, rooms were clean and warm, food was good and the bar well stocked with good Irish whiskey. This is a character hotel for walkers. Wonderful atmosphere set in a beautiful country.

Very badly managed.

Went to the outside service area to order 2 BBQ burgers and 2 beers (Advertising all over the canopy etc that beer is sold there) when i got to the counter was told the two girls working there were only 16 and couldn't serve alcohol. Fair enough it's the law but they're shouting about it been sold there.

Then to the burgers, the person making up burgers used his hands way to much. evening pick the burger of the flaming BBQ with his hands. No gloves on while doing any of prep. So very rough and ready. No sink in sight to washing hands. Just wiped his has on his dirty apron.
When i sat down to eat my burger i cut it in half to make sure it was cooked through. I think it's heart was still beating it was that bloody. So brought it back to get a fresh one that was cooked properly. The burgers were actually nice tho.

A bit later i went back again to get some ice cream. the same 16 year old girl served me and was under pressure as there was a large queue. The ice cream was frozen so hard she could hardly scoop it out. (Not her fault at all, she's a young girl and just didn't have the strength) so she had to resort to wedging the container of ice cream to her stomach and try to scoop it out. Which she needed 2 hands to do and was proving very difficult. When she was serving the customer in front of me she was leaning down to try get her weight into it to scoop out the ice cream her hair was actually in it. Again not the girls fault she was doing everything she could in the situation. I was there for about 1.5hrs and didn't see a senior staff member or manager check on this girl once.

In such a popular tourist location is sad to see the main place in the area to get some food and drink run so badly.

Only stopped in for a bite to eat back in January. It was definitely crowed and overpriced, but not as much as you would have expected at a tourist trap. Overall the food was decent, and the staff was friendly, though I dread to think how busy it might get during the summer!

I was in pub to night I was stay in hotel I met with owner I ask him did he want a drink he siad no and then he siad he shouldn't be talking to me like who he think he is. the towels was all reddy use and rooms are not the beast and the beds are ruff don't go there pub was good crack have to say the truth was but man who own hotel think he's the man 😂😂

Lovely, Edwardian-era hotel next to Glendalough Monastic Site. A bit of a splurge but the room included dinner and breakfast. Both meals were excellent. Helpful, pleasant staff. Lovely in an old-world style.
