Excellent service and beautiful rooms. Staff go above and beyond. Large rooms with great amenities. Beautiful pool, gym and spa. A lovely place to get away. There is not much in the town but there is plenty to do in the hotel for a relaxing stay.

Rooms are nice, WiFi is a bit hit and miss. Breakfast is OK. Bar food was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Gym, pool and Steam room are a nice addition.

Had such a wonderful experience at the shearwater last weekend. The rooms are wonderful, the food fantastic, all such great quality. What really made my weekend was the brilliant customer services, particularly in the bar! Siobhan is amazing, nothing was too much trouble for her, she went above and beyond to help me. She is a total star x

There are a lot of good things about the hotel and a few things that could be improved. The building and the facilities are great and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good size and everything works well.

However, there seems to be an issue people activating the fire alarm around the time that the bar closes; I don't know whet the solution is but it is really annoying when you are asleep.

The carvery food was very good but at breakfast the fries eggs were very poor / cold on both days that I ate.

Room is pleasant some decor a bit #beige but clean and comfortable. .. staff friendly. .. any queries resolved with minimum fuss or delay food in Canal bar delicious but had quite a wait view from room is dull, (flat rooftop with gravel) nothing a few pot plants wouldn't fix.
Pool was warm some kids not following rules but we had fun anyway.

Laura at the front desk and Mark in the bar are top notch here. Only downside was AC was broken and had been for two weeks (according to Mark). Overall, a great stay.

Great service, the restaurant had a list of possible food allergies for each menu item and the front desk staff was helpful with a car issue. There's a good pool and exercise area. The buffet breakfast was very tasty.

Appreciated the friendly and professional staff. Really enjoyed our time here. It was more pricey than I'd expected for the region but I can't fault the place.

Had a spa day. Massage was grand- nothing wrong with it, just therapist seemed in experienced. Chill out room was lovely. Pool facilities clean and basic.
