Nice labyrinth like place! Nice beer and whisky range and some nice snacks!
We were not given much attention until we found a seat ourselves and then it was hard to reorder and pay, it was a full house though
Hi there Irish music goers
This is what I would call the real deal in pubs
And Irish music a very small place but right to the touch and it sells a really good coffee
Which you can sit down and and enjoy outside if you like
P.s if you are fond of the Irish whiskey
There is a treat on the wall inside
A selection of vintage whiskeys on the wall
And I noticed it had a 1984 bottle of Middleton in it but not for sale
Enjoy your visit
STAY AWAY. Will never return. Five friends and myself were refused service here for being on a "stag" according to the very ignorant young barman. We told him we only wanted a table and a few drinks and that nobody was on a stag. He became aggressive and told us to leave in front of everybody and caused a big scene about it. I felt ashamed and humiliated by the way we were treated. I wouldn't mind but it was early in the evening and there was not many in the bar.
Two ladies sitting at the bar pipped up and said "they don't look like they are on a stag", to which to barman replied and told them to mind their own business that he can handle it. How a bar can treat customers like this and get away with it is beyond me.
From a business perspective, the young barman was very quick to stereotype which is wrong on a lot of levels and needs to be addressed asap. The bar lost out on money that night and will lose out on a lot more by the way people are being treated in there.
AVOID!!! Don't expect a friendly welcome and don't even bother going in, if you are in a group. It was 6 p.m and 6 of us went in and were told to leave as apparently we were a "stag party". Hugely disappointed with the barman as to the way we were treated. A few of us weren't even drinking. What was more shocking was how dismissive he was to the 2 ladies sitting at the bar, who were trying to defend us. If I was running this establishment, I would be embarrassed as to how paying patrons and potential customers are being treated. This place definitely leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
In the heart of Galway is a pub called Tigh Neachtains. The food is good the range of beers, craft beers and spirits is very good, its a shame the staff feel like they are doing you a favour serving you. The decor is arty and interesting and ut is a historical building, see the plaque on the wall outside.
Best traditional pub in Galway. The finest spot for people watching, sitting outside on a nice day
Ducked in here to get out of the rain and grab a cup of coffee. Small place but plenty of places to sit inside. You definitely get your money's worth if you order an Irish coffee.
A grand little maze of books and crannies to enjoy your quality Guinness in. Lovely friendly staff, great atmosphere even when quiet, and lovely simple display of spirits behind the bar! Top quality bar.
Best pub in Galway. Old, authentic, loads of Art and character. Hospitable. Good food. Loos not great.
Busy traditional old pub in the heart of old Galway. Fantastic atmosphere, great beers, outside seating. Sit down and relax, chill out, talk to locals and visitorsyou might end up staying all day!
Nice quaint lively Pub with the odd session in it. Interesting Interior with pictures on the wall. Reasonably priced also.
Great beer, try the White Had "Little Fawn", good buzz and lots of books for quiet chatting
One of the oldest and most famous pubs in Galway city, if you like your Guinness then in you go, it'll take you back in time.
This place is a little treasure in Galway. The whiskey selection is amazing and there is always some very interesting craft beer options. The bar is quite segmented so easy to find a little nook to drink the night away, or enjoy the more livelier main room, often with live music. On a sunny day the outdoor area offers great people watching down shop street.
Great pub, possibly my favourite in Galway. Great atmosphere. Full of friendly people and the staff are great. Serves a fair decent Guinness too 👌
