This used to be terrible until recently when it was taken over by a new owner.
I'm a massive fan of Indian food having travelled through the country extensively so I could learn all about the different types of cuisine so I'm am very fussy when it comes to eating Indian. I post a lot of Indian recipes to my website as I find it hard to get a decent Indian outside of the big cities.
I met the new owner one day and expressed my dissatisfaction with the food, he told me to come back when he took over fully and give it one last chance.
When I did give it another chance I was amazed to see a drastic change to the menu.
All of a sudden your regular well known curries were relegated to a small section of what is now an extensive menu full of wonderful delights such as lamb ribs, lamb shanks and giant King prawns to name a few.
It went from being 1 star to way beyond 5 stars and what I would say is easily up there with the best indian food I have eaten in Ireland only rivaled by the Shalimar which used to be a great restaurant in Dublin which has long since closed due to the owner retiring and is now The Rustic Stone.
If in Birr then you really should try this place, if not then book yourself into a hotel and go try it. It would be worth the trip.response / report this review
