Good food with good atmosphere. The sandwiches were excellent and the soups tasty. Service was friendly and quick. The only small complaint is the menu is difficult to read, what with it being handwritten and all.

Lovely place, very red and full of antiques. Great service, they were helpful in suggest a supermarket and fantastic food. Sausages were great, mash ok. Lots of people that work in that town choose to have lunch there as it is so nice. Go there!!

The Purple Heather is my first port of call whenever I visit Kenmare. A unique cosy bistro with amazing food e.g. Warm Goat's cheese salad with fresh fruit and toasted almonds, all ingredients with local provenace and home made breads/cakes. Consistently good. Whether I go just for coffee, a pint or a meal, I never want to leave.
