Presentation was what might be expected of a nice French restaurant, but flavours were more gastropub level. Dessert was good all right. Gripe: charging €2 for extra bread is plain mean when the set price dinner is €49! If you live in Cork, as I do, it's probably worth dining here once and forming your own opinion. Might be your thing. But if you're just visiting, there is better food elsewhere in the city for less money and in a far more welcoming environment.

Excellent spot for family or intimate occasion. The ambience/ food/ staff are of a higher calibre to it's peers around the city. It's one of those places you would try and keep for special occasions so as not to dilute your regard for it.

This is by far the best restaurant in Cork. The 3-dish course was absolutely fantastic. The service was amazing as well. Great wine choices. Lovely ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant.

A fine French restaurant. Very elaborated and decorated dishes. Staff is excellent; some of them are French and their accent helps creating a nice French atmosphere.
Starters are little artistic compositions. For example the chef market selection is a composition of three small bites: a two-pieces of smoked salmon with fresh erbs and fruit, a crunchy deep fried cod fish stick in red sweet tomato souce, and a prown.
Other starters are as well delicious. The foie gras and the pate are both excellent.

Mains were a little less impressive than the starters. The pork belly is tasty but the duck leg was somewhere between flavorless and dull. Mains are as well perfectly decorated but with less emphasis than starters.
Portions arw in general very small so you want to go for at least a 3-course meal.
Fine wine selection but quite expensive.

Something I regret: I didn't try the kirsch; I didn't spot it in the menu but they serve it to a table not far from ours. Kirsch reminds me so much of Paris and I would recomand it as aperitivo instead of a prosecco.

Something I found a little irritating: prices per item are missing in the menu. You only have price per 2-course meal and 3-course meal. If you get any other combination you need to ask for the price which is annoying.

Generally the restaurant is good and deserves it's fame.
Not my favourite French restaurant though.
