Went for a friend's wedding. Lovely venue and hospitality was second to none. Food was exquisite. Didn't stay at the venue but would happily return

Fabulous place and fabulous setting but pricey and the food didn't quite live up to expectations.Food was beautifully presented but the flavours were not quite as expected. For example a lovely little lemon posset on the dessert buffet was completely overwhelmed by a generous sprinkling of dried lavender flowers on top..the result was a dessert that tasted of soapbut would have been perfect without the lavender.
The starter buffet looked amazing but consisted mostly of cold seafood options. Great if you like fish.even the turkey breast option was served with anchovies if I recall correctly. The service was excellent and very prompt. I don't think I'd be in a rush back as I feel the price didn't match the quality of the food served on the night.response / report this review -

I can't rave about this place enough - stunningly beautiful setting, beautiful decor, beautiful food, beautiful wine. And the De Meys are fantastic - fun, friendly and great at their jobs. Our wedding was perfection, in no small part thanks to them!

Got a reservation on short notice and was pleasantly surprised in all facets. Excellent and attentive service in a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended.

“My first visit to Blairscove House was on a work trip. Being a bridal makeup artist I see so many wedding venues and when it came to my own special day Blairscove House was the venue that stuck out in my head. On our first meeting Ann & Woody chatted as if we were friends for years. We loved the informal approach and anything I suggested, it was no problem. We walked around the house and knew it was the exact one for us.
Ann was fantastic to reply within a day to all emails or telephone calls.
Everything from the run-up to the actual day itself was just perfect and so personal. The attention to detail, the amazing food, the service and the beautiful staff - everyone is still talking about our wedding. We felt we were the only couple who ever got married in Blairscove House.
It was exactly what I expected and we are already planning a family meal again during the Summer. Plus I will make sure we will book for our one year anniversary - I wouldn’t spend it anywhere else.

A wonderful eating experience, especially the starter bar! The atmosphere is so warm and friendly with a background of a gentle piano player to add a little romance!
