Recently had a weekend break in Hotel Westport. By far the nicest hotel we have stayed in, in Ireland. The rooms were beautiful clean and comfortable everything you want in a hotel room. I can't compliment the staff enough for how nice they were and we ventured into the spa which was exceptional.

Lovely staff. Will make you feel right at home. The sort of hotel that gets a lot of return visitors.

Would come back. Excellent kids club and very family friendly. Breakfast had A good selection. Room service was very good. Food in restaurant was mostly good. A few small flaws prevent me giving 5 stars. The changing area in the pool was a bit cold and service was a little slow at times. However, staff were pleasant and my children really enjoyed panda club. It was v well organised. Good value for money. Near Westport house which was a great day out.

Beautiful hotel! staff have been so helpful from front desk to restaurant and all u meet as you go through the premises. As I'm travelling with older parents ( 86yrs old) this hotel caters for all they require to have a safe time away ,, NB took staff 2mins to react to safety alarm being activated in shower to call to c if everything was OK ,Very Impressed 10/10

Wonderful setting, well appointed rooms, helpful and friendly staff and really good food! The pool is lovely, I didn't use the gym but it looks to have everything you could want. Would highly recommend and will definitely return!

Stayed here recently for two nights b/b plus one 30 euro bistro menu, booked in receptionist quite nice, room comfortable, went to get a glass of wine as you did not have the wine I wanted I opted for what the lady me was a wine quite like it but for 8 euro I got a 125 ml I thought to myself that's the only wine I will buy here, went into dinner, asked for a window seat because there is only one large window in the dining area, to my horror I was told because I was only on the bistro menu and not on the 50 euro fine dining I could not sit at the window now picture this window no view just trees outside, talk about leaving a bad taste in my mouth, next morning for breakfast I was told I could sit anywhere, Dinner was excellent, breakfast very poor, found most of the staff very unfriendly, on checking out was never asked did we enjoy out stay, we stayed in the Hudson Bay Athlone on the Friday night and I think the staff could learn a big lesson if they visited there staff were so so nice there, we will never return to your hotel again

We enjoyed our stay here and the staff were very kind and helpful. The hotel seems old and rooms are quite outdated. Leaking bath, no extractor fans etc. Not sure why it's listed as 4 star? Food was very good and well worth the trip. Overall was an enjoyable stay.

I was so comfy in my lovely roomy bedroom and loved the friendly helpful staff that can not do enough for you, and make time to answer any queries you have.
The warm cosy atmosphere made it a home from home for me and I couldn't recommend this Hotel highly enough
Thank you for a wonderful weekend and I look forward to returning next year

Very poor for a 4-star hotel, below are some examples.

We stayed here (2 adults, 2 kids) for 4 nights in July 2016 as part of our trip along the Wild Atlantic Way. During our vacation we stayed in 3 hotels (all rated 4-star) and one B&B.

    - rooms were very loud: noisy toilets everywhere, banging doors, loud guests and poor sound insulation
    - breakfast was not worth 3 stars: not fresh, "clean" plates were still wet, a lot of noise from staff cleaning up tables, 2 out of 3 times there were no cheese / croissants / clean plates and we had to ask, even poorer selection of healthy food
    - almost no towels, I know this sounds stupid but one towel per person in a 4 star hotel ?!
    - charged us 15 euro per child dinner, normally this was free but then they had to eat this dinner with the "kids club", my weakness that I prefer eating together with my kids but charging 15 euro for a children menu consisting of spaghetti and meatballs while the kids menu indicated no price (for info: my vegetarian pasta was only 12.5 euro)
