Just back from a long weekend. We found all the staff very friendly, helpful and the service was excellent. Lovely food and we cannot fault the hotel/staff in any way. Will definitely go back when the opportunity arises again.

We ended up in Newport after our car broke down on our way home from a few days break in Mulranny. It was raining and we were hundreds of miles from home. Luckily we found a repair garage who unfortunately gave us the bad news that our car needed a new part or we were going nowhere! He showed us the damage that was done and explained everything clearly. It would be at least a day before we would be on the road so they drove us to the nearest hotel which was very nice of them! Hotel newport were very accommodating from the moment we walked in. We asked if they had a room (bearing in mind it was only 11.30 am and we'll before check in time). They sorted us out straight away with a lovely double room. We had a very comfortable stay. The food was really nice and all the staff were lovely. We even joined in on the bingo evening in the function room and we're made very welcome.

FANTASTIC.

That's the only way I can describe the weekend the Bridge Inn Golf Society spent at this wonderfull hotel.

Every single one of the 33 golfers that stayed there have asked me to pass on their most heartfelt thanks to Michelle, Pat & all of the staff at Hotel Newport for their outstandingly warm welcome and friendly and helpfull attiudes, nothing was ever to much trouble for anyone all weekend.

The chef also needs a special thank you too, as the food was exceptional, always hot, on time and plenty of it.

The hospitality was second to none, the rooms were top quality and the Guinness as promised was superb.

So once again thank you all for making our weekend a FANTASTIC one

Great hotel, staff, service and food too! We stayed at a B&B down the street the first night and then we had dinner at the Hotel Newport. The hotel was only €20 more but the experience was 10 times better! Thanks!
