My Partner & I booked a 2 night midweek break through Dealrush.. 2 nights B&B.. All I can say is WOW.. It's a fabulous Hotel and the scenery is breath taking.. The room we were in was 646 in the new building with views of the Sunrise over the lake and the Sunset over the Golf Course..The Staff are so friendly and helpful.. We tried the Bar Menu on the first night and the Food & Service was top notch ( the Thai Beef Salad Starter is a must ) and on the Second night we tried the Restaurant and although the service was top notch the Menu didn't suit us but that's more our fault than the Menu.. The Leisure Centre is excellent and again very friendly and helpful staff.. We had a Spa treatment during our stay and used the Thermal Spa and Relaxation Suite which were Superb. I think the addition of a Hot Tub / Jacuzzi would really benefit the Thermal Spa area.. All in all a really enjoyable couple of days in a wonderful Resort which we will definitely return to..

Many Thanks to all the Staff..

Nice hotel for a weekend away. Scenery is beautiful and there’s plenty to do in the area. Hotel has a lovely pool/leisure centre. Rooms are quite basic - there’s no safe or fridge - but are comfortable. We had a mixed experience with the bar food, it was generally tasty (with huge portions), but the staff were not very knowledgeable..

Lovely hotel if u stay in the newer end. Great spa and leisure facilities. If u can get a view on the lake it makes it that little bit better. Breakfast is fast and freshly made. Would recommend it!

Stayed here last new years eve. Checked in fine, however there was a mix up with the room. We were waiting a while before it was sorted. The manger on duty apologised, but considering the day that was in it I thought he would have done something more. Next morning for breakfast manager spoke to us and said because of the mix up they would give us a discount on the room. Fair play considering the hotel was busy and he was probably working all night he remembered. Food, entertainment, room and staff was all of a high standard.

This is a excellent hotel well deserving of its 4 star rating with very friendly staff, great food, and the rooms are why you would except for a hotel of this standerd . It has a golf course attached. It over looks a large lake and harbour. On the Down side for me some miles from shops and public transport.

Nice size room. Comfy bedding. Good bathroom except water came and went in pressure and would change from literally scalding to ice intermittently. 3rd floor room very very warm despite opening window and door for ventilation. Hotel said restaurant was 'booked out' for the night, and there were many many open tables throughout the evening (we continually walked by to see). We ended up eating from the bar where the staff was blazingly overwhelmed by the customers they had and it took 3 separate orders to get food/drink as the waitress forgot our order each time and would walk off and forget us for 25min a stretch. Food (pizza) was good when it finally happened.
Location is lovely, waterfront, loads of views. Obviously a family destination based on the sheer volume of groups with varied aged kids.
There was a nice adult only bar down the hall on evening, staffed by a lovely gentleman. The spa appeared to be good....our timing was not congruent with their hours.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Room large and we'll serviced. Wonderful breakfast
Attended a wedding reception, seemingly faultless. Nice pool. A great break here.

The hotel is dated, all the common areas are. The feel is that of a nursing home on a children-visit day, especially in the breakfast conservatory with those 'beautiful' curtains. I stayed in the retreat wing which is more recent and the room was comfortable, however no minibar and no toilet brush. The 'floor-to-ceiling' windows are not seamless but rather interrupted by a metal bar, right at head-height when you sit down to behold the lake view. Ah yes, the lake view is actually a view over the top of the pool, the whole carpark and yes, a bit of the lake. The glass is stained by aged bird poo. The restaurant is nice but the vegetarian option is a very lonely one. I would not go back.

We spent a night over the weekend at the Hodson Bay hotel, as a family. Having payed the price I did, I was hoping for a luxurious surprise for my husband, unfortunately it was a total disappointment.
The hotel and decor is very outdated and would benefit a lot from doing up.
Room was well prepared for new guests and cleaned, which is always appreciated.
The bar experience was simply embarassing.
Travelling with two small children, we decided to eat at the hotel in a more relaxed environment, hence chosing the bar over the restaurant.
We interacted with 3 girls from the waiting staff - one forgot about a high chair and then to bring our baby food back, another forgot to bring the cutlery (it was busy so it took a while to get attention) and yet another one got visibly irritated when we asked her to come back with another glass of water (since when do you serve a small single glass of water to a whole family eating dinner!?)
Food matched the service, I am afraid.
I ordered Thai beef salad and literally had to search for beef amongst battered pieces of red pepper!
Kids menu burger was impossible for my daughter to chew, it was so dry.

Next time we are in the area we will certainly stop by the fantastic swimming pool, but certainly never ever to eat again.

Just spent a family weekend in this hotel and I have to say we are really disappointed!

    Positive:
The facial massage was amazing, the best I ever had.
The room was clean and tidy
The location is great with a beautiful landscape.

    To be improved:
The new part of the hotel/spa is nice and modern, the old part is totally outdated that needs urgent refurbishment.
The bar food and service are a disgrace! We ordered beef battered, there was more pepper than beef and it was gooiy, the kid menu burger was awfully dry with only two dry buns and a steak burger dryer than a cookie. I had to ask twice for water and when finally the waitress came, she brought 1 single glass... Knowing that we're a family of 4 and then made a face when i asked for additional glasses.
Eventhoug we switched off the heating in the room, it was still way too warm.
The air extractor in the bathroom wasn't working anymore.

Overall, I would NOT recommend this place as you can find better for the same price.

We were a big group celebrating a birthday and they treated us very well. Food in the restaurant was lovely, rooms were very nice and the pool was fantastic. Service was relatively slow and orders were mixed up but that was to be expected given how big our group was. Would definitely recommend.

The setting of this hotel is beautiful and it's always busy. It's in the centre of lreland so probably a great place to meet up with people. We have had lunch there on several occasions and the food is good though sometimes hit and miss. The staff are always polite and helpful. It's lovely for a break on the way to Dublin from Galway or visa versa. You can have a lovely walk around the grounds and on a sunny day sitting outside is bliss. Plenty of comfortable places to sit.
