The highlight of our hotel stays! Amazing staff, A.M.A.Z.I.N.G food ( seriously, so good). Rooms were nice..only issues ( and im stretching here.no A.C in the room and the bathroom door didn't stay open so it got incredibly hot and humid in the bathroom) Other than that it was amazing and we are already planning our next stay ;)
Our first visit, as a family was our Wedding Anniversary two tears ago. We saw the Orient Express Carriages and learned that it opened as a Restaurant during Summer. This August we enjoyed Pulman Dining in the Orient Express. Amazing. Delicious food in ambient train carriage surroundings. As usual, wonderful friendly staff. Afternoon Tea at Glenlo, is reminiscent of a bygone era. Beautiful presentation. Delicate sandwiches, petite pastries, lightly baked scones. Selection of teas. Breakfast at Glenlo is very stylish. The Chef is to be complimented on his imagination throughout the Abbey. Definitely will return in the near future.
I stayed at the Abbey View Bed and Breakfast across the street from the hotel. I ate dinner at the Oak Cellar Bar for six nights. The staff that worked in the bar were great and I had wonderful service. I got to know few of the staff over the six nights there. The food was great. The atmosphere in the bar was wonderful. I hope to stay at the hotel my next visit to Galway.
The grounds are beautiful, the room is clean and sized well and the bed extremely comfortable! The afternoon tea is just a step back into time where civility was common and it is so beautiful in the lounge. The staff, I feel is what makes this hotel, they are helpful, funny and kind they put the personal touch into your stay. Just lovely!
This has been THE most fabulous place we have stayed in a trip full of wonderful castles and hotels. The people on the staff go above and beyond to take care of everything you could possibly want! Dinner in a car from the Orient Express was, for me a train lover, the highest point of my day. And the food was to die for!! I will come back here on my next trip to Ireland.
Room was clean and cozy. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, and helpful. Food was great. Location was beautiful, tucked out of the way
Friendly staff, great breakfast, and nice rooms!
I would definitely recommend the falconry even though it is on the pricey side. The falconer and the golf instructors were very kind to us and seemed passionate about what they were doing.
Very nice place with very helpful staff. Food was a tad pricey for the quality, but decent. Beautiful looking golf course that I did not have a chance to play.
We stayed for one night here after visiting the Cliffs of Moher on the way up to Northern Ireland. This was a great luxury accommodation to recharge our batteries. We had originally planned on seeing Galway, but after several days of hiking and driving around the countryside, we decided that this was the perfect place to relax and pamper ourselves a little. The room was very comfortable, the hotel is beautiful and the grounds are lovely. The bar and lounge area, with an excellent piano player, was great. Don't miss out on eating at the Pullman Restaurant! Dining on an original car of the Orient Express is definitely a unique experience - and the food was great too! Book in advance if you want to reserve the older (and more historic) of the two cars.
Excellent venue. Beautiful and comfy room. Attentive but not obsequious staff. Breakfast was excellent. Pullman restaurant quaint - former Orient Express hotel rail car. Food good but a little fussy.
Beautiful bar and very interesting photos and painting about place history
Tranquil place with gorgeous expansive grounds (mainly for golf). Rooms are luxurious, staff is polite and gets to know you during your stay, and the breakfast and lunch are very nice. The Pullman Oriental Express train (for dinner) is absolutely delightful and a really neat experience. Worth doing is a ground walk and falconry event with Jurgen. He absolutely loves birds and is knowledgable (26+ years) and a peaceful, easygoing person.
Fantastic location, just 5 minutes outside the city. Amazing bar food. I am a wedding photographer, and this is a stunning location for weddings. One of my favourite locations.
Truly a amazing place and the Christmas decorations were amazing. The menu however was not good on my opinion for over the Christmas period. The welcome was good but went down hill from their. My husband paid Euro1700 with drinks.
The food did not have a lot of flavour and dry food.
The waiters rushed you for your order, as soon as you were seated for dinner.
Fantastic hotel. Right from the start of the visit to the end. I would suggest dinner onboard the Pullman. 5 star luxury start to finish. Great for a break away and close to the city also.
