Very welcoming, the kitchen is well equiped and big, it would even suit big groups. We had a 6 beds dormitory with a lot of space. Everything was clean when we arrived. The continental breakfast (5e) was fine, with cereals, toasts and fruits (that's too rare) and the irish breakfast (9e) additionally had more bacon and sausages than we were able to eat.
The shower on the other hand was quite terrible, a few drops of boiling water. Also, don't take the bed next to the heater if you don't want to wake up with a headache.
But hey, it's the only alternative in the area to expensive b'n'bs, and wonderful hikes departs directly from the hostel, so it's worth it!
Very clean rooms. Price are acceptable. Very comfortable location if gonne hiking. Friendly staff. Free wi-fi but works only in the public area. Was a little bit uncomfortable.
It might just be me, but if I book for two people, I expect them to be able to stay in the same room. Unfortunately, this was not the case in this hostel. Furthermore, the beds were okay but the toilet kept running all night, everything was constantly noisy and the door to the room could only be closed by slamming. But hey, breakfast was fine and it was cheap.
Great location right in the heart of Glendalough- near the Monastic settlement, trails and lakes. So nice to be able to explore after tourists go home and things quiet down.
Free parking available. Free wi-fi, but it works best in the public areas. Our room had bunk beds, was in the ground floor, and was a corner view to green plants outside.
Bedding isn't changed each day so they provide you with clean white pillow cases and a sheet to use as a top layer. Also will need to rent towels for a couple Euros of you don't have your own. Breakfast available but for an additional fee depending on how big of breakfast you want.
Hostel located in isolated Irish countryside. All amenities are great and prices are very good. The beds were slightly squeekey so if anyone moved the wolÄ™ room could hear it.
Clean place , helpful staff, catering was very useful and situated near a beautiful area, very good experience for a good price.
Pretty good for a hostel! Room wasn't spotless and the WiFi was naff but other than that can't fault it.
This hostel would be closed if it wasn't in such an amazing location. I have been in Ireland for 2 weeks and this is the worst! The bed had tiny flying insects that bit me all night, the mattress was a rock! The wifi only worked in the common room which is not a problem however the staff sits on all the couches in there To get the wifi leaving no room for the guest. I sat on the floor and no one offered me a seat. I was a paying guest. And I kept walking on meetings, akward. Luggage room not safe! Just another room with broken furniture in it..
the right place for a low budget trip.
rooms of all kinds (private and shared) with toilet and bath.
the staff are very kind.
the place itself not far away from the braveheart film set.
a bus ride from dublin.
Good value for money. I dislike the shower, didn't have enough pressure and wi-fi reception in the bedrooms area is really bad. The place is clean and really quiet, surrounded by nature which makes it enjoyable. The staff is really nice.
Cheap, clean, amazing location and views. Perfect for hiking.
Situated in a lovely area, the hostel provides a nice place to sleep overnight, with a decent bed and a nice owner. Well worth the money
Glendalough is an amazing place. It has several trails to explore and after a few hours of walking nothing better than to rest in a very comfortable place! In addition to a great location (just 15 minutes walking to the information center where is the starting point for all trails), the hostel has a very good infrastructure and friendly people.
