Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel is always a pleasure to visit. Numerous visits including really delicious regular meals, very comfortable and gorgeous bedrooms, brilliant functions including functions and weddings. The exceptional service and genuine Irish hospitality from both the Fitzgerald family and their team that really set them apart.
I was there for drinks and dinner. Drinks were very good. The food was excellent. Atmosphere was quite plush. Service was excellent.
Well run country hotel that can cater for large functions. Good food at reasonable prices and very good staff.
We were treated like royalty. The service was top drawer; each item on the dinner was perfectly prepared and exactly as ordered. We had a dinner party for our daughter's wedding and when we decided to do toasts before the main course, they accommodated. The beef and chicken were succulent; the ice cream sundaes beautifly presented on specially designed plates. After dinner I enjoyed a "Dick's Porter" in the pub. It is a special house beer, crafted for the Woodlands. I cannot express my admiration for David Fitzgerald, his mother Mary, and brother Conor. But they treated us right!
Beautiful hotel. Had brilliant experience at July wedding. food at wedding party so tasteful. . Hotel staff very helpful. . Would love to stay again.
The breakfast was good, the beds were comfortable, and the gym was awesome. The property is beautiful and the staff was friendly enough. That said, the room had no air conditioning so it was sticky hot in the room, making sleeping uncomfortable. There was not a refrigerator in the room, the light switch to the bathroom was broken, the toilet didn't flush properly, and the bath didn't drain well. There were weddings taking over the lobby and bar the entire stay, which made the experience less than ideal. This was my least favorite accommodation during the trip to Ireland.
I had a great time here. There is a little farm area next to the hotel grounds which included various animals, fun to see. I did enjoy the bar area which I had beer as well as appetizers and a full meal and everything was perfect. The spa I visited only once and it was a nice spot to relax which included a pool, sauna, steam room, and Jacuzzi, however the Jacuzzi was a bit on the Luke-warm side and the pool had a strong chlorine odor present and we had to pay 2 euro for the swim caps. Everyone was friendly and accommodating.
We had a family wedding there at the weekend. And it was a very enjoyable stay. Lovely staff. Love food.very relaxing, would recommend it.well worth a visit.
It is the very best of everything food is exceptional and Timmy is such a very friendly person and could not do enough to make our stay brilliant. Hotel rooms are fabulous and all the staff made us very welcome . Would recommend this Hotel to everybody and I hope some day to go back.
Beautful hotel. We stayed here on a business trip as it was recommended by their local offices. The rooms were very clean and of a good standard.
We had our evening meal and breakfast in the hotel's Timmy Mac's Bistro which was great, but quite different decor to the rest of the hotel and certainly not at all like the contemporary bar area and the traditional hotel lounge. The food was to a high standard and good sixe portions. The breakfast was very good.
The staff were so friendly and went to great lengths to provide directions as if nothing was too much trouble.
I would have trouble deciding between the wonderful hotels we've stayed at in Ireland, but for my wife it would be no contest - her absolute favorite was here. You are in the middle of huge, open, green grassy areas, on a long street with other nice houses on large lots, and this hotel is so wonderfully surrounded by nature. On either side there are huge areas of grass, one side bordering the parking lot there is a large enclosure with dozens and dozens of birds including chickens, peacocks, turkeys, and a few rabbits to boot. Then on the other side of the hotel there was a huge area where sheep and a few donkeys and a horse were grazing endlessly. That was the view from our room and we visited them a few times during the stay. The hotel itself is really nice, the room is a bit old-school and clean and lovely, the staff was very helpful and friendly, the space to eat breakfast and dinner has a great decor of old bicycles dangling from the ceiling, an there is a wonderful atmosphere that honors the family that started and owns the place including a drink in the honor of the dearly departed patriarch. Wonderful place, and only 3 kilometers from the AMAZINGLY adorable heritage town of Adare.
This place was okay, not too uncomfortable stopover, but wouldn't go back. Rowdy wedding party, shooting outside our room, and beer bottles strewn outside weren't ideal, nor was having a step to call over between bed and en suite. Electrics have problems and trip out when too many brew up, but staff blame guests
