Budget accommodation comparable to youth hostel but with private bathroom and free breakfast. Linen were clean, the rest was not. Small room with flimsy portable electric radiator. There is a general feeling of the place falling apart.
Who said great breakfast? The dining rooms had plenty of flies flying around. The only fruit was three black bananas barely edible. A few cheap yogurts in the fridge. Cooked breakfast was a joke. As a vegetarian I had a few fried mushrooms two fried tomatoes and some beans swimming in tomato sauce. They did not have enough or appropriate crockery. But then again it is cheap. Staff not much friendly, room was smelling humidity. Just good enough for staying one night.

Unacceptable standards. Broken glass under bed. No springs in bed which is the least one should expect. Socks down side of another bed. Place not hygienic at all and dreadful smell of smoke in house.

A wonderful mix of the old and new with the restoration of the period features of the house, but with the fitting of laptop safes and being given the pass code for the wifi access with the key. A pleasant short stroll along the canal to NIUG and Galway city center, the staff were welcoming, chatty and helpful.
The only thing I can fault the place for was finding out it only had Maxwell house coffee, so coffee lovers beware. I will certainly be booking back in to here but bringing my own coffee.response / report this review
