Stayed here for two nights. There’s a bus stop just outside which takes you directly to the city in 20 Minutes. Hotel staff very friendly. The bar had a nice atmosphere. Pool closed at nine, which seemed quite early so we didn’t have time to go to the leisure centre but a lovely hotel in general.

Stayed here twice. Both experiences were fantastic. Staff, food, hygiene in the hotel was perfect.I'm removing one star though because of the lack of notices and signs around the hotel. When you get into the elevator you have to guess what floor your going to in order to find your room!
Reception and the underground car park are clearly not marked in the elevators so you must get out at a floor you think it is, look around and if it's not then call the elevator again! Very frustrating.

The hotel was amazing. Staff were very friendly. Would recommend to book for dinner if you are eating here as we had a bit of a wait the first night but the food was amazing. Can't wait to go back

I stayed at the Clayton for a friends wedding on Saturday the 21st of October. My friends and I were checked in so quickly and in our room all within 10 minutes. Our room was fantastic with two large double beds and a lovely seating area. Lots of treats in the room to keep us going until we had dinner.
The wedding food was amazing and all the staff from the moment we arrived until we left were so helpful and friendly. The beds were extremely comfortable and we didn't want to get up and leave the following morning. I can not wait to come back and stay in the Clayton hotel, every time it is a wonderful experience.

Stayed here for a hen and would recommend. We did a cocktail class in the hotel which was good. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.

The breakfast was good and the rooms are lovely. It's about a five minute taxi drive into Galway city.

The hotel is beautiful, clean and friendly staff.
    Everything you need is available.
We would recommend the Clayton Galway to everyone.
My uncle who is 86 yrs home from USA found that his car wouldn't start
in the morning, staff got jump leads and were so helpful and kind to him.
We were attending a nieces wedding the day previous.

Dirty and stained floor in the room, very sparse and bare room, dim and unlit hallways, not comfortable bed, and one bed did not even have the sheets cleaned. Called the front desk for a bottle opener - they didn't have one available and refused to help - they hung up on me. Overall, very disappointing hotel, and I would say this is comparable to a 1.5 or 2 star hotel. If it was priced like a 2 star hotel, the experience and quality of stay may be passable. But for a 4 star hotel? Not worth it. Do not recommend.

Reception staff were friendly but did not mention when we were checking in that our room was an adjoining room.
There were wet bleach (or some other cleaning product) stains on the carpet in our room that damaged our luggage.
Our room was big and the bed was comfortable.
There were no face cloths, body lotions or bottled water in the room which was disappointing for a 4 star hotel.
There was a good selection of foods to choose from at breakfast but the food was cold.
The breakfast staff were rude and unapproachable, we were not asked on either morning if we wanted tea or coffee.
We ate in the bistro on Saturday evening, it was very quiet but we were still waiting 30 mins from when we ordered our food. The food was disappointing and expensive, not the quality you would expect from a 4 star hotel.
Overall a disappointing stay. Very expensive for the quality offered.

We had a lovely family room, 253, with balcony. The sweets for the kids were a lovely touch. Food was great, leisure centre was loved. Staff lovely, girls loved the kids club. The only fault was the weather :-)

Absolutely wonderful breakfast!! So many choices and their pastries delicious! Clean modern room, plenty of parking. Full health spa facilities, but did not get to use. Great value, close to town. Across from small shopping area.

Cleanest and largest room we've had on our trip. (Room 202). Huge windows, a small refrigerator, extra towels, seating area off the bedroom area, large bathroom, ample free parking. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful and the hotel washed a bag of laundry for us with about a two-hour turn around. Incredibly helpful and reasonably priced at around $13.

Was here for a conference. Lovely accommodation. They supported the conference extremely well. My only criticism in that regard was the sandwiches and nibbles were overly fancy. Sometimes you just want a simply sandwich. Later in the evening there seemed to be some confusion over the residence bar, with some staff cutting us off and other staff happy to serve us. In the end the bar manager resolved the situation and continued to serve us. So thank you for that, whoever you are. I heard the swimming pool and gym facilities are very nice too. The location is a little outside Galway, but overall I had a fantastic stay here.

A party of twenty people had lunch here some time ago and it was really lovely. The staff are so attentive and caring and the food is very good. It's a lovely hotel even though it's not in the centre of galway. I often meet friends here for lunch or just a morning coffee. I can never understand people who comment on the carpets curtains and decor of an establishment. What on earth has that got to do with anything ? Surely it is Comfort Food. Staff. Cleanliness. and Service that are important ?? The decor is a matter of taste and you don't have to sleep under the carpets or drape yourself with the curtains. It's a very good hotel. and the staff work hard
