It is a well managed resort particularly good for couples and adults. The villas are spacious and overlook the sea except some where the view is blocked by trees. The resort is unusually pricey.

A place to really relax, enjoy spa and other facilities. Staffs are all very nice, respectful, smiley face all the time. No double standard treatment towards asian or non-asian. I can say top notch service. Villa is very clean and comfortable. Worth the money and they will able to think and give service beyond your expectation at times. Only the jacuzzi in villa need a new tiles to compensate the whole ambience. Be careful of Tar by the beach where you might end up waste time washing slippers and legs.

all good, relaxed and peaceful though, the beach is bit dirty with tar balls from ships (мазут). also, the price is overkill. but in general I assume this is the best u can find on bintan island.

We had a fabulous family vacation to Banyan Tree.

From our greeting at the ferry terminal to the welcoming check-in staff through to the golf casrt drivers, resort restaurant & pool staff to the Manager of Banyan Tree. Everyone made us feel welcomed and taken care of.

We stayed 2 nights. The first in the standard villa and the second night in a 2 bedroom ocean view and private infinity pool villa. Both villas were lovely with relaxing views and all the room amenities you could require. I highly suggest to use the mosquito repellant and coils as soon as the afternoon starts to slip away. We didn't know where ours was the first night so ended up with a few bites 🤔.

Food was superb. I highly recommend trying the local cuisine especially if you enjoy spicy flavours. Their western food was also very tasty and well prepared.

The hotel pools were refreshing and clean. Because we stayed at Banyan Tree we had access to the sister resort pool as well. There is a kids club at Asana Resort but we didn't use as our kids were too young. But it looked good.

There are planned events which are well organized and fun. We did the Turtle feed and release program which was amazing to be a part of.

Overall we had a great short vacation at Banyan Tree and will most certainly return. Special thanks to the Resort Manager (Ibnu) and Brian who carted us around the Resort many times.

Great resort, but the thing that really sets it apart is the staff. So friendly, always smiling. Look forward to heading back.

A wonderful experience at this Banyan Tree resort. Stylish villa with infinity pool overlooking a quiet bay. Amazing staff who look after your every need with great attention to detail. Good food from various regions, but the Indonesian our clear favourite.

Great view. Crazy awesome service. Private bbq dinner. Only problem is that buggy transport a little slow. Other than that all is good. Will come back again.

Service was impeccable, buffet breakfast has a wide selection including prosecco, villa staff intuitive to needs and communicate frequently to ensure your stay is good. Only flaw would be the expensive Indonesian food which was only subpar in taste.

It's okay but rooms feel tired and a bit musty. Staff are super friendly but not very well organised. Breakfast and pools are enjoyable.

Been here 3 times in the past decade, place hasn't changed much. Service is top notch, as is expected of a Banyan Tree property. Wonderful views from the sea view villas. great for short weekend getaways! And yes, do try the spa!

We stayed 2 nights at the Villa of the Rocks. It was a fantastic stay - very relaxing and to look out of the window to such a beautiful sea view takes your breath away. The sound of the waves crashing outside your villa as you fall asleep -- that was pretty awesome to.
All the GOs that we met spoke perfect English - they were all obliging and tried their best to accommodate all of our requests which included a late check-out.
Service was prompt and always with a smile.
No complaints about the ambience. the service or the staff.
The only serious thing I found lacking was the food. Food quality was not up to par - especially for the US prices that you have to payyikes!! We tried all the restaurants available at both Banyan Tree as well as the sister resort Angsana and I would recommend none of them. Although The Cove, which was touted as a Mediterranean restaurant but which really was an Italian restaurant was not too bad.
The signature dishes at Safforn - their Thai restaurant were terriblevery disappointing.

Oh and on the first night, we were awakened at around 3 a.m. by very loud sounds of a motor running. We thought it was a helicopter or something hovering above us and we even saw flashlightswe thought intruders were trying to enter via the seafront and were panicking for a moment. The next afternoon we saw/ heard the same sound and realized it was a fishing trawler :-)

Food at onsite restaurant Saffron is good but prices on the high side given size of servings. Most dishes are in the range of US$15-$30. 3 dishes plus the complimentary starters and 4 varieties of rice not enough for two diners. However the 4th dish we ordered was the best - Massaman. US$18.  A kind of "chap choy" creamy mixed vegetable (including nut) curry served with roti. The small complimentary dessert was a nice finishing touch. Otherwise service is very friendly, quite prompt, decor is pleasant if you enjoy dim erm "romantic" lighting and piped traditional music. Clean and comfortable. All facilities work.  Reasonably well designed.  Like other resorts in this region eg Berjaya Langkawi. I mean it is clearly high maintenance and not what I would do for own home. But it is nice to live by the trees with the squirrels, have a jacuzzi open to the bats and dead leaves, a mosquito canopy over the 4-post bed that might collect dead insect bodies, and no mozzie screens anywhere so that air conditioning and keeping doors and windows closed becomes more or less compulsory - as long as somebody else takes care of the maintenance and utilities bill! ;)   Another onsite restaurant is Treetop. A good buffet spread with local specialties such as porridge, Satay Lilit & Lontong next to the usual western fare - breads cheeses cereals cold meats hash browns pancakes etc   The staff all speak good English. No Bahasa Indonesia or Bahasa Melayu necessary. Don't even need Rupiah if all you do is stay within the resort.  We paid tips in Rupiah but I am certain USD would have been ok. :)   Some staff have relatives in Malaysia and a few are probably native Singaporean or perhaps Malaysian. So English-speaking residents of Malaysia/Singapore should feel right at home here. They even use the British 3-pin plug instead of the usual Indonesian configuration so no adaptors necessary.   Note this is a resort. The idea is to chill out, relax, and be pleasantly surprised by the service every now and then. Our unit came with open air jacuzzi. Others will have their own swimming pools.  There are also spa facilities and communal swimming pools. And a library with a limited selection of DVDs. It's far from everywhere, with the nearest town half an hour's drive away.   Sea swimming is not advisable due to jellyfish. You get complimentary bottle of water & anti - mozzie wet wipe at the swimming pools.   All in it's a good place to spend a few days off from the daily grind. They have a reasonable selection of TV channels and fast wifi so you are not completely cut off from the rest of the world.
