Probably better for families or people traveling in large groups and need 2 rooms. The room is comfortable but more like an apartment than a hotel. If your traveling alone or as a couple, would probably be better off at Jatra or Swissbel. The view was ok from the balcony

Marvelous but there's still room for improvement 😁 mostly are great. Cozy bed, spacious shower, lots of tv channels, good mini kitchen, delicious breakfast, sea view swimming pool 👍👍👍

Great place and view.
You can hav a look pool with sea view. They also have access to the beach directly.
If you are lucky enough, you can get city view from your room and the sunset is georgeous.
They also provide breakfast with various menu.
But unfortunately, if you go there bu big bus, you need to take a walk because the bus can’t enter the main loby. The room also more looks like apartment instead of hotel. Suitable for long stay.

Breakfast nothing special. You have to swipe the room card in the lift, not tap the card. Nice view to the beach. The pool water is not clean enough. It's only 10-15 minutes to Balikpapan Super Block.

As I said before good place to stay in Balikpapan if u like spacious rooms.

Staff is kind and helpful.
Food is as decent.

Only minor is the dated rooms and there maintenance off the rooms is poor .

Cleaning could improve allot. Had to call or ask many times since the forgot my daily amenities .

Conclusion 7/10 but worth the money.

Good :
Views from the room
Lobby area is cozy
Free breakfast has variety from traditional to Western food
Staff are friendly and helpful

Bad :
Wi-Fi is spotty, I'd recommend using your own internet connection if you need anything more than basic web browsing
Our balcony door was extremely hard to open/close
Only 1 outlet in room, and the location isn't ideal either
I'd rather have a microwave than a electrical stove, but it makes sense considering microwaveable food is quite rare in Indonesia.

The good outweighs the bad by a lot, so 5 stars to Aston hotel.

“Aston” sounds something great in the ear. It has really great views too. But we didn’t face any lucky, yet. The 3 room-apartment needs some basic renovations soon. Problem in its doors, curtains, showers, too many to mention. Did we expect too much? They have olives for breakfast, and unfortunately, the rice was thing like little gravels :((

It's very romantic hotel, the swimming pool area is beautiful with the sea view. There is no beach access.
The room is big and clean. I tried the restaurant in room and it was 10/10.

Check in process took a while, maybe due to high season. It has swimming pool facing directly to sea. Breakfast menu is chain hotels standard with additional Indonesian cuisines.

I took apartment with 2 bed rooms, 1 double bed and 1 single bed, with balcony. The main bedroom has ots own bathroom and tv. There was electrical stove, refrigerator, and kitchen sink. The overall condition is great.

The main down side was elevator. Only 2 elevators available for all guests. It was frustrating.

I had a good stay overall. The location is very good, and the service was excellent. My room had been leaking from the air conditioner pipes, so I called the front office and my complaint was responded very quickly. I was also offered to change rooms, but I declined because the leak was not that bad. However, it would be better if the hotel makes sure all rooms are in their best conditions before any guest checks in.

Was pleasantly surprised when I checked in at the Hotel as the location is great. The room was an impressive size but is badly in need of some basic maintenance. From door locks to bubbling concrete and sliding door not working. Not big things but have all unfortunately been let go. The breakfast was excellent and the service overall very good. Just needs a bit of maintenance and will be fantastic. Wifi a good speed but keeps dropping out. Easy to re-connect.

I stay in here too long I think, as my project for moving rig equipment still no clear yet. I like see view from Balcony, some times I get sunset in Dermaga, swimming when waste time cause boring only in the room and work in Jetty. Bathroom, room clean and I can sleep well. the staff also housekeeping so nice, care and helpful..Like stay at home not in Hotel..very nice stay in here. Thanks

Comfort place (has really awesome view to the sea from the lobby), great service, but the water smells like too much Calcium hypochlorite (kaporit in indonesia). Maybe for counter the smell of sea water.

Hampir seminggu nginep disini dan puas sama pelayanannya. Petugasnya semua ramah. Cuma masalah listrik kalo mau magrib ngetrip tp cuma bentar aja kok. Overall mantap.
