Talking about authentic style: an antique cabinet, numerous iron pots, wooden floor, vinyl player, unique bar. With this setup only good menu can come. No surprise, it is sweet and greasy as it is at your granny's. The duck with its skin, combined with pumpkin puree was divine. I could've imagined a better wine but it may be my own error. Service is smily and they even kindly ignored the fact that we brought our own dessert for the friends dinner. Although one guy asked for a dessert. Two times. The same thing. It was awesome.

Great place with nice service and wonderful food. We went there with five people between the age of 34 and 61. We all found a great meal. One vegetarian, two meat-lovers. I had a quinoa-avocado salad which was the best I ever had. The wine was also good and quite affordable. I can really recommend this place.

Horrible service!!! Waitress doesn't treat customers equally. So shame! I ordered a few meals and a glass of wine. Wine supposes to be served with a glass of water. And asked a waitress about it. Her answer was no. A guy next to me ordered the same wine but got a glass of water with no request. I asked the guy if he ordered water and he said no, bc it comes with wine. My question is what's wrong with me if I didn't get the same service like other customers. If you read my honest review please go to another place. Because waiters here are racists!!

This restaurant has consistently very good food and lots of options. Unfortunately, the service is quite bad (friendly, but very slow and lots of mistakes). Lastly, the atmosphere is ruined by too many dogs running around in the evenings. If they are going to allow dogs inside at least they should be well behaved, not barking, eating off the table, and laying across the floor so you can't even walk past and trying to lick you. This was kind of gross and I saw it every time I went here. It's too bad because the place otherwise has a nice inside, good vibe and very good food.

The food is very tasty and the waiter was friendly. The prices are a little higher but the money is well spent. I can recommend the Hungarian Lamb with spinach and sweet potato👌.

Great food and staff! If you are a mixed group of vegetarians and carnivores, this is the best place for you! Reasonable prices and cool decorating.

We tried some of the vegetarian plates (we are not vegetarians, but the descriptions were really appealing) and they were so great! Really tasty. Not the cheapest restaurant, but the quality is there. The plates (vegetable gratin and zuccini-chickpea fritter) were a bit small though. Cheap beer like everywhere in Budapest.

This is a review of the beer garden not the main restaurant.

This a very large open beer garden. The bar is near the entrance. To me nothing particularly special. Worth a visit? Yes.

I must say they have great Potato Pancakes, which I am told are very common in Eastern Europe but I had never tried them and I went there twice just to eat them.

Go you will have a good time, I am not saying these are bad places or that they are not fun. They are just not my cup of teas as it where.

We were atrracted by the welcoming atmosphere of this place. They serve traditional dishes and they have a very vary offer for the wines. In the menu there are also some vegetarian options. I took a duck chest and my girlfriend ordered a chicken breast. They were both served with some tasty side dishes. The prices are also very good! Highly suggested!

Best goose leg I have ever had, and one of the best meals I have ever had. Hard to believe they manage to serve such high quality food at such low prices. Nice atmosphere with wine glass chandeliers and throwback music.

We chose Koleves for a private business dinner event and were very happy with the services. Our group of about 40 people left very satisfied, and were quite happy to see not only some traditional Hungarian dishes in the buffet but also some creative additions (pistacchio tiramisu for example). From the administrative side of things they also did a great job of replying to requests and setting everything up very quickly for us. We are happy to use them again.

One of my favourite restaurants. Nice, informal, good vegetarian options. They have a nice terras at the back in summer. Next door is the Köleves Garden. Also a great place to go, but only open in summer, more of a beer garden, with a completely different menu, so don't mix them up.

Look the food here is delicious! I accidentally found this place one night semi drunken night out with friends and was so impressed by their duck with mash potatoes and chestnut creme sauce, that I returned a week later (sober) with my boyfriend insisting he had to try this place. The service was HORRIBLE! We waited half an hour for just our drinks and we still only got them when we waved down a waiter passing by. We waited longer still for our food (over an hour), never seeing our waiter again by this time i was fuming and vowing to never return to this place again as i don't care to spend money at establishments customer service is bad, even by European standards . However finally our food arrived and it was better than what i remembered, a rare feat to accomplish! So I give it 4 stars on the sheer strength of the food alone, the service i'd give a 2 star. Its worth it to go for good food, just don't expect to be waited on.

TBH we never got to eat anything. The rudeness of the waiter was unprecedented. After we were seated the waiter asked if we wanted to have lunch. We never even got the chance to answer, because he went on to say that he would need us to leave if we didn't have lunch. My father asked if we could just have a very quick coffee and cake. The waiter then basically ask us to leave. We were upset because there were at least 6 empty tables. The people around us were shocked just as much as we were. His behaviour was very surprising and upsetting.
