Located in an old Pawn Shop in Wanchai, this restaurant and bar is a good alternative to wining and dining in Central / Mid Levels.
Food is good, service is good and a decent drinks menu.
Something for everybody.

Great location and wide range of drinks available. However the prices are high and then they add a 17 percent "service charge". Very good place to smoke a cigar on the balcony, they sell them too, just remember to arrange the Mortgage first to pay for it. 😉

Walked out without even eating after finding that the Christmas Day lunch menu they advertised wasn't being served on Christmas Day and had been replaced with a much more expensive Christmas Brunch. When I asked the waiter what had happened to the menu I had booked for he said "it's a public holiday" and walked away. Poor customer service and poorly designed web page. Walked out and went straight to Ham and Sherry around the corner and had a brilliant Christmas Lunch; go there instead, the staff were delightful. 2 stars for the decor and the balcony.

Came for Sunday brunch and was disappointed. The starter plates where good, especially the crab mouse, however the main courses for both of us where very disappointing.

The full English was bland and dry. The sausage was tasteless, the fried egg overcooked, the yoke being almost hard, bacon was way to crispy for my taste, the mushroom with a puddle of oil on it and with the toast being fired as well it was all bit too much. The baked beans where nice however, obviously home made. I’ve had far better English breakfasts at pubs in Hong Kong.

The minute steak comes with an obscenely large hash brown, which while tasted ok was not required to be so big. The steak was tasty but overcooked being quite dry, this was a far better dish than the English breakfast however.

The desert plate was fun, but not enough to redeem the main courses

All in all, very underwhelming wouldn’t recommend or return

Good place for cocktails, although relatively pricey. Staff were very friendly and accommodating to my friend who made a bad drink choice. Try and get a spot out on the terrace for a view and some fresh air.

A surprise find. We were walking around wan Chai looking for a restaurant. Looked up and saw it opposite. Walked in to discover superb bar and happening restaurant. Thanks for a great meal.

It has a nice atmosphere, being inside what used to be an very old pawn shop. The food is pretty good and the beer selection is pretty standard. I don't really see what is so special about it apart from the building itself, but it is in a nice location.

A solid place for meals when you run out of ideas on where to go. Not that the food is bad. It is in fact quite passable. But I suppose it is simply that in Hong Kong we are so jaded. But I enjoyed fish pie here, as well as a large steak for the table. A very functional restaurant for a business meal where one does not have to impress. It is nicely decorated so it is definitely not a hole in the wall. Since Tom Aikens consulted on the menu the food has been uniformly competent.

✍Love this heritage building that is beautifully crafted to give a sense of the old colonial day and so is the decor. The food is superb, small potion but tasty. They even have their own farm at the top floor!

Wonderfully welcoming service and fresh, flavourful food on the terrace of a beautiful historic building. What's not to like.
The food really is top-notch. The wine menu is a bit limited, especially if you're only up for a glass- but I'd say it's par for the course in Asia. The cocktail menu on the other hand is much better than I expected. So many gems, so precious little time.
Clever trick, that: the gin tonic page alone will keep me coming back.
Hong Kong visitors: don't feel bad about going for The Pawn just because it's listed as "Western"; it's just as "Hong Kong" as that legendary dim-sum place you read about.
