Heard that this place serves traditional duck thigh soup rice. Went with wife for lunch last week, and was pleasantly surprised. She reckons this is every bit as good as what she remembered from the Dragon and Phoenix (龍鳳) teahouse in Mongkok.

And we went again Sunday night for dinner. This is truly an old style neighbourhood restaurant and specialises in some traditional cantonese numbers - not often found these days in up market restaurants down town (TST). The double boiled winter melon soup is really the way how it should be cooked, the melon melt in your mouth defused with the all the favours of the ingredients. The roast suckling pig is perfectly done, with crispy skins, tender meat and not too fatty. The stewed pummelo peel in shrimp roe sauce was just the way my grandma cooked hers. Deep fried nine belly (九肚) fish was freshly made and tasted superb. Stewed belly pork with marinated MeiShen veg were also true to form. The two starters, golden coin chicken, duck leg roll are also notable, as not many restaurant still serves such oldies. The place is truly a neighbourhood joint with a folksy atmosphere and serving staff, who can be off putting if you are not in tune. Surprised that they actually received a Michelin commendation as good value for money, which is apt. A good place to go with friends who do not mind the decor and appreciate some old style cooking.

Despite the Michelin status, this restaurant offers authentic local cuisine at a reasonable price. This is the place for people who want to experience the real Hong Kong local Chinese food.

Dim Sum and foods are not as good as before they awarded Michelin recommendation. Noodle I ordered was tasteless, too oilly. Dim Sum is from cheap food factory I can tell.

Interesting family restaurant with a history. Located about 10mins walk from Pentahotel. The serve roast meat options and have various unique HK local delicacies. If you are a foodie, this is a must try restaurant - buy dont order the usual dishes found in other Chinese restaurants. Order the speciality dishes which are all shown on the walls.

Order soy pork in lunch of HKD40 plus HKD 6 for tea fare, taste was good but the pork texture was not too soft.
