Nice food , great view and great ambience at night
Nostalgic place, taste same as it was 20 years ago. Prefer this pigeon over those found elsewhere in the city.
A famous Chinese restaurant! The food is excellent and there's a garden. Also, there're some kinds of birds kept in the cage near the restaurant.
Best squabs in HONG KONG!!!!
Amazing dessert- Tofu Fa!!!!!!!! :P
Good place to have YUM CHA or DINNER with familyyyyyyyy (:
Chinese restaurant with traditional decorations(lanterns). Many birds(peacocks, parrots and pigeons) as attraction. Minutes walk from Shatin Station. Good for tourists looking for something besides the chained/mall restaurant :)
Some mixed reviews on here which I think are unfair. Me and my Chinese wife go here quite often and have always found the service very good and the food delicious. Sitting outside is also very nice.
A waitress dropped the food on the ground, proceeded to pick it up and serve it to a customer. Disgusted.
Famous with roast goose and piegions. But the steps arelong way
Tofu dessert and the lamb pot are good. The rest of the dishes were disappointing, especially the fried pigeon. Awesome traditional decorations and generally clean environment. Dirty toilets.
Historic restaurant in Shatin offering supposedly the best roast pigeon in Hong Kong. Unfortunately the food is mediocre, not value for money.
It was ok only. Though we were there for nostalgic reason.
Take a 10 minutes walk on the small alley along the train rails from the Sha Tin Station. Just when you think you are lost, the long entrance to the hotel appears on the left This place is famous for squabs. The deep fried one is our favorite. It's definitely better than those in Mong Kok but I don't think it worth the distance to come here. Just one time for the experience is enough for me.
Pleasent and filled with memory
Delicious food with 80 years' history
The place brings back momories of the 60s
Bring back those good old days. Food is good
Food are pretty average. Is it worth trying yes. Is it worth going again. No
It is an interesting restaurant with classic chinese renovation. Famous for the roast pigeon.
Good food. Not too many people.
used to be so good!! now is still best, not the best.
The food is so great that it can even represent Hong Kong!
fired pigeon very delicious. salted chicken congee is another favorite
This place has a long history (since 1938?) and my cousins and parents have all come to this place when they were younger. It's not the cleanest place to eat but you can't expect much from hk restaurants unless you're at a 5 star place anyway.
We especially ordered the roasted pigeons and the taste was great! Usually the taste stays only on the skin but I could taste it even in the meat.
We also ordered the chicken congee too. It was very tasty; usually I don't like congee because it's too plain but there's flavour in this one.
It's quite a bit of walking to get to this place, it might have been cuz we parked far but I didn't see any parking nearby.
