I am here on Monday. The place is so quiet. Only few people here. And the guard maintain this place so nice. It's clean everywhere, all lights is on, the fans working properly. They also have diorama for children. If you wanna stay and read a book, drafting your blog, etc, this the right place in Hongkong. No crowd like other places. But they don't have free WiFi.

An educational place for both adults and kids. Most enjoyable is room showing the whole development of train transit system from the old days to the modern Hong Kong.

The place is easily accessible from the MTR station.

It's free and it wasn't really that big for a museum but there was some trains and train models which i really appreciate. toilet was ok. can't really complain.

Great for kids who love trains as you can actually get on trains to check them out. Location is not the best though - kind of out of the way. Plan to spend no more than an hour there.

Great little place for a little history of Hong Kong's railway. The faithfully restored, green 51 diesel engine is an ultra classic of old Hong Kong scene. It was part of the memory of me growing up in the 70s and 80s. It's wonderful to see some of Hong Kong's heritage being reserved as it's a rapidly developing country.

The price is right - free. It is large with lots of space for the kids to run around a bit. There isn’t a lot of people around on the weekends.

Train enthusiasts can imagine arriving into Hong Kong by rail in the golden age of train travel at this charming little museum located in Tai Po Market. The Hong Kong Railway Museum is housed in the former Tai Po Railway Station, which was built using traditional Chinese architectural design in 1913 and is now preserved as a Declared Monument. The permanent exhibition of Hong Kong's rail history includes photographs, old coaches, samples of tracks, and a full-size model of an electric train compartment. Feel free to climb aboard!

It's not bad, for a stroll. Plus, visitors can come for its adjacent open-air market as well, where it has operated for over 100 years.

Great little museum about the trains and KCR/MTR history in Hong Kong. It's free and has plenty of outdoor seating. It's right beside the current MTR line, so as you're learning about the old trains, you can watch the new ones fly past.

Nice little museum educating on the history of KCR and the actual Tai Po Market stop. There are even 2 trains that are opened for people to hop on to sit and allowing our imaginations to flow.

I like this train museum a lot. It combines the tranquility of Tai Po district, an ancient feel from the green surrounding and a historical education on train transportation. Its set up is a reminiscent of an old train station. There are old train carriages for visitors to go on board and take pictures. These train carriages are well maintained and clean! It is a photogenic place, so couples and university graduates like to have their professional photos taken there!
