Very “Glitzy” decor hotel at quite convenient location for very affordable price!!
The Room is a bit “compact” though, U need to find Yr way to open Yr suitcase!!
Great view. Good condition. Very kind co-worker. Just one thing no fridge. If fridge is available, one of the best hotel about value-cost ever.
Can’t decide how many stars to give as it seems like a classic case of “you get what you pay for”
Pros: cheap, clean, came back to a spotless room with replenished bottled water everyday, nice view.
Cons: room smells like cigarettes until the air conditioning kicks in, small slow elevators = up to 20 min waits to get in the elevator at times, wifi is essentially non-functional with a tested download speed of 1.3 mbps at the best of times.
Beds are very firm but that seems like a trend in Asia.
A good hotel in a good location. Rooms a bit small but didn't matter much as we were out most of the time. Very good breakfast for 60 dollars.
The moment I arrived at the hotel everybody is nice and friendly. From the security at the ground floor the lady who process my check-in and the housekeeper that always clean my room. My room is clean and the view is superb! And of course this is the best location in Hong Kong island. The next time I will visit again Hong Kong I will not hesitate to stay in this hotel again.
Great location for the price. Decent room size. Very friendly staff!
The hotel itself is located very conveniently in Sai Ying Pun close to the MTR station. The rooms are clean if not a bit on the small side. Incidentally the view of the harbor is blocked by a large black building, so it's kind of a misnomer. I came during a cold front, and found my room to be fairly cold. Turning on the heat does nothing. I suspect there is no centralized heating which seems to be a common theme in hk. I could be wrong. The room itself was very clean, and they provided an extra blanket when I asked. The bed is very uncomfortable. You can feel every spring in the bed. Other than that I have no complaints.
Tiny room, missing bedside lamps, 2 light bulbs missing from ceiling light, no chair, shower fixed so water shot out almost horizontally, room very cold as a/c unit wouldn't go above 18 degrees (had to request extra blanket), unhelpful staff. Very disappointing. However consierges and housekeeping staff showed great customer service and kindness.
Unwelcoming stuff, and round, the mattresses very old and uncomfortable ,
The smoke from other rooms come to your room, and if you complain they just say I’m sorry. The location very convenience to everything, But unfortunately the hotel is disaster. I don’t recommend it to anyone.
Only stay in this hotel if you like smoking. As soon as you step off the elevator, the first thing you notice is the smell of cigarette smoke. As you walk into your room, it gets worse. I asked if there were any non-smoking rooms but apparently they're all non-smoking. The interior looks like it's from the 1920's, but not in a good way. The paint is peeling off from the ceiling and the elevators have cheap glass (or plastic) chandeliers in them. The room itself (but especially the bathroom) is tiny. There isn't even enough room to sit down on the toilet.
Nice view. Ok.room. Great value
Just why a shower head pointing to the opposite wall. Not to the person? Water everywhere when taking a shower!
Power socket is not in a good place
Wifi is weak
But I still like the place. Hope they can improve
Nice place. Good interior. Good location. Easily accessible from all places. But small rooms.
It's good for basic, no frills comfort. Not all rooms will have a harbor view. So if that's important to you, check with the front desk if your room has that. Room size is average for Hong Kong standards (about 15-17sqm).
The location is great if you want to be away from the main tourist areas, but still have good MTR access. Lots of great little food options within a 10min walking circle. Hotel itself is friendly, but the rooms are typically tiny. Could do with a refit of the bathrooms, but plenty of hot water at least. If you're tall or wide, maybe look elsewhere.
Very nice harbour view from our room. Room space is suited for 2 people. Room rate is reasonable enough. However, it needs to improve on their breakfast menu
Good location, walking distance to some of the main attractions in the city and just 5 minutes away from a train station. The bed is not that comfortable, it's too firm; the size of the room is a bit tight; nothing to watch on TV, only 5 or 6 channels and only 2 or 3 are in English (who cares, you're only there to sleep). The view is good (room is on the 27th floor), during booking, you have the option between a water view or a mountain view. The hotel has 4 elevators but sometimes you still have to wait to get into one of them. Reception staff can speak English well so communication is not a problem; with room service staff, communication sometimes is a problem.
The rooms were small but clean and well stocked.
The rooftop pool was the best part of the hotel. Great view, very clean and well maintained.
The breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety to choose from.
Very ordinary hotel. Don't like it at all. Not recommended for family as rooms are very tiny. Only to book just if u r going to just sleep the night.very dimly lit up.
Advantage was train station was at walking distance. Local bars was close.
My dint like the rooms at all.
Roof top is having a pool which was not bad.
But will never ever stay here again.
Oh dear !! This hotel you really need to miss. Location wise yes it's really good. Just so that everyone is aware the best western brand of hotels, those I have experienced globally are pretty terrible places. Lifts are pretty rubbish in this hotel, staff on the front require guest experience training. Have city maps upstairs on reception without having to send guests down to fetch them at concierge just a little tip really. AND FOR GOD SAKE CHANGE THE BED MATTRESS
Smaller that expected room for the price I paid. The beds had no support and could feel every spring from head to toe. The toilet was so close to the bath that I could not sit down properly without my knees being squished.
Do yourself a favour, do not stay at this S-Hole!!! Yes the rooms are small, but small even by HK, standards. Overpriced! The staff is far from helpful or timely in anyway. Most oddly worst are the elevators, which seem to be slow and hard to get, I don't get how it can take 15 to 20 minutes to get from a floor in the 20's to the street?!? This place is an embarrassment, not only to the Best Western Brand, but to hotels and the great city of Hong Kong as a whole! DO NOT STAY HERE!!
Small rooms, but definitely worth price. It's fine as long as you know what you're getting before you walk into the rooms. The bathrooms are really small and the sink is outside bathroom. Otherwise, comfortable beds, decent included breakfast, and very good location on Hong Kong island.
Front desk staff were rude.. asking guests who already checked out to leave their LOBBY (if u can call it that.. almost as small as their WC)..
Location & value for money *****
Staff & room ***
Hotel was nice but please remember and plan your visit so you reach after 2.00 pm as the check out time is 2.00 pm and they don't have alternate arrangements for time being. Hotel was good with facilities but For Indians it's difficult to eat their food be prepared and carry your ready to cook food.
Fantastic rooftop pool. Even if it is closed because of a weather, still worth checking for the view. Internal decor - you'll be overwhelmed with the amount of "gold" and chandeliers everywhere. Even in the elevator. Location is good, close to the double-decker tram and subway.
It 's not really close to the station but close to the exit of the station. I recommend to take the tram which is nearer.
The hotel is good in the service, facilities and location. You can leave the luggage at the hotel before checking in.
The hotel is near the subway so that's a plus. Like most reviewers have said, the mattress is horrible. It is so hard and you can feel the springs. The wifi speed was good, elevators were a little slow but that's understandable because this has 35 floors. Room is a little small but I've been in Europe and some of those hotels are tiny as well. There are lots of restaurants, coffee shops, convenience stores, laundromat right outside the hotel. Location is excellent. I wouldn't rate this as a four star hotel even though the websites rate it that. Overall a positive experience except for the bed. They need to change the mattress!
This was bar none the worst hotel I have stayed in over the past 35 years of traveling. The only positive thing I can say is that the housekeeping staff was courteous and professional and did the best job possible with what they had to work with. The room was booked as deluxe but was anything but. It was small, no place for clothes so had to live out of suitcase. Supposed to have ironing board and iron but of course there were none available. Four foot by four foot bathroom flooded every time shower was used because it didn't drain. Complaints to front desk went unanswered. No space to walk around the bed, TV reception was poor as was the Internet service. Elevators took 30 minutes to stop at my floor after complaining to front desk. Staff prevented them from stopping if it slowed them down. I will never consider staying here again and will never recommend this hotel. I will reconsider staying at any Best Western in the future.
