5 Star + prices at 2 star quality.

Pretty building and stunning scenery, but the rooms are poorly furnished and poorly maintained. We struggled to sleep due to the volume of the air conditioning; and the whole place feels like it was renovated at a budget. When paying US$400+ night, you should expect a lot more

The food is also very sub-par. A particular low light was the BBQ which included a raw chicken wing, rubbery pork fillett among others

The staff try, but seem ill prepared to run a high end establishment.

Ultimately for this money, you can stay in the best hotels in HK and this falls far far short.

Worth visiting the building and taking in the views however

It's a nice quiet historical hotel at the end of Tai O. There's a cafe on the 2nd floor with a nice view of the ocean. They also offers a few free local tours.

Very meticulous and thoughtful staff. Well-equipped rooms. Great portions of breakfast - which was complimentary. You can see this sunset view right on the balcony of the hotel or at the public pier outside the hotel.

I ate lunch here on a tour. The shrimp fried rice with local shrimp paste was good. A good place to grab a bite to eat while exploring the old fishing village of Tai O.

Enjoy the ambiance and the history. Breakfast is great. Service is fantastic. Good place to stay after a day of visit of Tai O.

Historical police station change into a hotel. Next to the pier and great seaview. Nice to have a drink at the lookout restaurant.

This hotel is best reached by foot. Take the coastal footpath through the village from the bus terminus. Along the way stop by the mochi(filled glutinous rice balls) kitchens and shrimp paste factories. There are streetfood stalls past the footbridge and you should stock up with drinks here for the 30min walk. This nine room hotel is a restored police station, some of it (detention cells) have been kept as is. There are great views out into Nam Chung Tsuen

Excellent retreat for over the weekend. For the price paid one gets a wonderful stay in a historical police station built in1902. The room is beautiful appointed with all the comforts. Highly recommended.

Unique little enclave in a totally authentic village. Lots of history, interesting write ups on this former police station. A hotel stay with a story.

Five stars for experience in the Cafe there. Good food & service. Prices reasonably affordable. View is fantastic: near & distant hills with full sea view. Worth the relatively hot long walk from Tai O bus station. It was very sunny & hot on 29 Sep 2017.

We had dinner here. Were I'll prepared for the late night trek but was worth the effort. It is an enjoyable adventure walking there through the village from the bus terminus. It is a chance to experience the seafood and shrimp paste on offer but genuinely enjoyed the beef - so well cooked on the bbq. Limited menu but good choice of wines. I think the journey to and from is part of the experience, if you're willing to embrace I would definitely recommend.

Charming venue with a scenic view and cultural history. Popular place for weekend lunch and tea, reservation for big party recommended. Lunch menu is limited, but served efficiently.
