Tranquil, great staff, ok food but not a grwT value.

The showers are awful however just a one foot area not the shower floor to stand so its impossible to get dressed without standing on the wet shower floor.

The hostel is just fantastic. Rooms are clean and comfy. River passes by and it is breathtaking, landscape inside the hotel ks astonishing. Rooms dont have TV, you dont need it. No cell phone coverage but free wifi.

The actual location of this hostel was nice. The cabins were nice and clean. There is NO HOT WATER for your shower which was awful. I like that they ran a tab and then you just pay on your way out but they charge for EVERYTHING. (they don't take credit card) This is the only hostel in Guatemala who charged for water and wifi. They have a pool on site and it sits beside a river. It is beautiful! There is a bar on site as well. Staff were good to my travel companions and I. They had daily shuttles to wherever you needed to get to next. The tour to Sumuc Champey was awesome! We started with a hike, then swimming, then lunch, cave tour but then had to wait awhile to do the float trip down the river and at that point the sun was setting and we were wet and cold. It was nice to float but would have been better if it was in the heat of day. Our tour guide was awesome. The washrooms were a bit smelly, as they seem to be all over Guatemala.
    * One key for each room- whether you are in a dorm or private room. Can get tricky especially if you are in a dorm with 5 others who do you do not know.

Poorest customer service ever, whole staff barrely paied atention to us. All services: laundry, transportation.. and meals are far too expensive.Ok it has a nice river by, but definitly should off go go to another hotel right upper the oasis (a recent one, not the zephyr, don't get confused)

I really didn't get on very well with Hostal Oasis.

Don't get me wrong, the price of the dorms were excellent (Q45 is insane) but you really do get what you pay for We had a very small dorm that was shared with two others which I'm very used to so this didn't bother for me for the money I paid.

The main issue I had was the way I was treated by the main receptionist, they let me pay for the hostal in cash but then refused to give me any change and instead, opened a tab with my name to cover the 'change'.

Really really bad money grabbing system that I unfortunately couldn't avoid.

    Other list of issues were:

    - no hot water at all (despite advertising it heavily)
    - food was pretty awful.
    - drink arrived with bugs in it (normally can't be avoided, but I already had bad beef with the hostal so I took it more personal than usual.
    - THERE IS AN ACTUAL WIFI CURFEW They only switch the WIFI on a few hours a day in the morning, afternoon and evening, unbelievably inconvenient when you need to try and plan your day.
    - The cleaners kept sharing the washing rack so we didn't get to use it like we wanted to.

    The few positives are:

    The price
The bed is actually surprisingly comfortable
The view is pretty damn nice

Overall, I wish I'd had gone to The Muro Hostal instead, but I'm content with the money I saved regardless.
