Rooms are not only old furnished and not renovated but also dirty.
We had issues with noise in a room facing inner court. From AC and and kitchen air vents. Blinds were too short so it would not darken the room. Hair drier (ancient type) did not work so a technician changed it at 10 pm. Smoking is allowed and encouraged by the presence of ash trays.. So the first room smelled bad. We could not open the door due to food smell . So we asked for another room. Same old and dirty style.

Total disapointment.

Disadvantages: Room is small with a cold marble floor. The balcony looks out over the acropolis if you look on the right, but you mostly see, hear, and smell (really smell) the many cars at the huge roundabout in front of the hotel. Bathroom is outdated and really tiny, when showering either my back stood at an angle or the whole bathroom became wet. Curtains are not blinding so the room becomes quite light.

Advantages: well located right next to a metro station, only a few stops until the city centre. Very nice rooftop terrace with pool to do some relaxation, which is often difficult when visiting a city. The pool is very cold but if you are brave enough to hold on it is nice to swim a number of lanes. The gym really suprised me; it is very clean and has modern machines, attributes, TVs, and clean towels. The minifridge in the room is filled with free water bottles each day.

Conclusion: Unpleasantly surprised with the room, in my opinion not worthy of 4 stars. Very pleasantly surprised by the rooftop terrace and gym, which made my stay in the end pleasant. I would consider going here again but would most likely choose a different hotel.

The newly renovated rooms surpassed my expectations, the rooms were clean and spacious, you are given complimentary mini fridge which is refilled daily.

The rooftop pool is okay, the pool itself is clean and maintained.The service staff are polite and check on you consistently.

The views form both our room and the rooftop restaurant/pool areas were exceptional. You can see the acropolis and make out the surrounding area very easily.

I would recommend this for couples or groups of people rather than young families.

Very pleasant, polite attentive staff, excellent views, smart well equipped rooms. Great rooftop bar, restaurant and pool. Prices surprisingly reasonable.

For a 4-star hotel, it was good. Its location is central with an underground station a few steps away from the hotel entrance. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast had a decent variety.

Trust the warning of those who have reviewed the place at stay elsewhere. Many have suggested Novus Hotel which is just opposite The Stanley. I made the mistake of not trusting the reviews, thinking that people may just have been unlucky. NO. SO WRONG. The Stanley is absolute trash. Worst stay of my holiday. I've stayed at hostels and guesthouses with way better service and amenities then this.

If you really need to stay here, be sure to get a room in their new wing. That is the only consolation to this horrendous place. Do not expect any service from the staff here.

All around great place. Renovated rooms are spacious and modern. Worth paying the extra fee for buffet breakfast in the Livingston restaurant. Roof has pool, bar and excellent restaurant with views of the Acropolis and the entire city, with very good service. Metro subway station 100 feet from main entrance. Will definitely stay here again.

The location of this hotel is really good, nothing is to far away. Just around the corner is the Hop on and Hop off bus stops and its really convenient. We took a cab to different parts of town and it was relatively inexpensive. The hotel is nice and clean, but its an old hotel. They have a really nice roof top pool / bar / restaurant. The roof top restaurant has really good service and good food. We found the food over priced for what you get but it was good food non the less.
