Kleines aber mit sehr viel Liebe gestaltetes Museum, das sehr anschaulich die Technik der Antike darstellt. Viele Exponate und Nachbildungen von antiken Automaten und Erfindungen von deren Nachfolgern wir Heute noch profitieren. Eine reizende Museumsführerin
führt einen einige Geräte in Funktion vor. Einen Besuch wert.

The Museum of Ancient Greek Technology in Katakolo is well worth a visit. It shows just how inventive the ancient Greeks were and what they have given to the world. The museum has a lot of operating displays and models - from an 'alarm clock' to an automatic theatre, a hydraulic wheel for pumping water to a steam machine. The town itself is quite small - one street of shops almost - and has a certain quiet charm although the street becomes lively when the cruise ships arrive. Most cruise ship visitors go on by coach to Olympia, about 25 miles away, where the first ancient Olympic games were held. If time permits though the Museum of Ancient Greek Technology is just at the far end of Katakolo, a few hundred yards from the cruise ship terminal and a visit to the museum can be completed in half an hour.
