Living in natural environment and being minutes from CBD but not realizing that once you are at the property

We stayed in the budget accommodation, beds were comfy and the room was secure. Price was VERY CHEAP! Had a nice view of the smaller lake and we found the shared bathrooms to be very well kept. Lots of hot water and plenty of local wildlife around. Very peaceful. This place was extreme value for money. Vanaka

Good place to stay! I liked it. The food was decent and the lakeside view was cool. Can't say the pool was the best, but it was enjoyable. There were some spiders that hadn't been cleaned out in my room, but overall a great spot! They come and replace your supplies every day!

Great food - and gluten-free dishes!
We just went here to have dinner after hiking along the water falls. Food was amazing and they’re aware of food allergy. You can even get gluten-free pasta here. I’d highly recommend it, just bring some time, good food needs it’s time.

This place is nice and cosy but it has flies and mosquitoes because its located beside the lake and dense jungle, if you are planning to go there do take inspect repellent.

Beautiful! Amazing, kind staff and adorable place, perfectly aligned with nature. Great food, hospitable people, got to kayak around the little pond with my daughter. Didn't have Fijian cash on me, but staff was very accommodating! Even arranged transportation for me for the morning. Budget room was tiny with a bunk bed but and a full sized bed, not bad for the price. Not a modern place, but i was searching for something rustic and earthy anyways. They even gave us food to feed the fish in the pond! Just what I was looking for 🌿

Straight up lovely. The views, the atmosphere and the staff were all exactly as I'd want from a rainforest retreat. The food is excellent, and it's so lovely to eat it at the edge of the lake. They serve the largest 'small' plunger of coffee I've ever had-- especially good for me as I'm definitely a caffeine fiend! Even the resident cat who lives under the restaurant is nice-- doesn't bug you too much, knows how to politely take the food from your fingers, and will even curl up by your feet if she likes you.

I booked a budget room, which was upstairs and had double-door access to the verandah, which had a nice view of the pond. The room was standard, and included a fridge and ceiling fan, but what elevated it for me was the afternoon light reflected from the pond that streamed in each afternoon. Magical!

The staff are very helpful, I enjoyed a trip into the national park, and a kayak around the lake with their help. The waitstaff are also top notch, quick with your order and your food. Would visit again!

I stayed here a long time ago when it was the Raintree Lodge, it was a beautiful change from the usual island hopping scene, cool and beautiful.

    Don't stay,

We had to cancel our booking with the lodge due to a family emergency. We rang and gave many days notice was told at the time we would not be charged as we gave ample notice and that our booking had been made direct with the lodge and not a third party.

Guess what they made two transactions on our credit cardone for a nights accommodation and another for a $500 plus authority.

Almost 1 week has past and am no closer to seeing any refund on my credit card.

Each time we try an challenge they keep saying they are looking into it.

It's always funny how these types can take your money but once you try and get any refunds for unauthorised transactions it is very difficult.

The private rooms are nice for two, booking and reception was hassle free, and the view outside the door overlooking the verandah is of the much talked about lake. Shared shower and toilet facilities, but kept clean and tidy. Bar fridge, ceiling fan and adequate number of wall switches along with a rather comfy double bed. The free wifi was pretty fast, always a plus.
