Once established as the standard of luxury that was fit for royalty; now more than 100 years later, the Grand Pacific Hotel remains true to the ideals of delivering the best of old world charms, South Pacific hospitality and contemporary service.
The Grand Pacific Hotel has been an icon of the South Pacific for over a century. Totally rebuilt, the Hotel reopened in May 2014 on the hundredth
anniversary of its original opening and has already regained its place as the “grand old lady” of the Pacific – a wonderful blend
of fascinating colonial architecture and history combined with magnificent Fijian hospitality and friendliness.
Beautiful hotel and worth a visit for a drink or coffee. Quite expensive though and the food is not really worth the price. Drinks are overpriced compared to what you can get in the city. However, the bars in the city are not that nice and will blast your eardrums with music, so if you want a nice relaxing dinner/drinks, then this is a good place. A less expensive option for a peaceful meal + drinks near the water is the Bowling Club, which is a stone's throw away from GBH.
Great ice coffee. great service.
Didn't try anything else.
A great place to unwind and relax without the hustle and bustle of other hotels. Rooms are well appointed and the food is good. Central for people on business and a good place to have meetings and conferences.
Historic, stylish and the best hotel in Suva. Grwat location in the middle of the city, with everything from attractions to shopping centers are nearby. Modern and cliean rooms some with ocean view. Friendly staff.
This review is souly for their restraunt. Prices charged raise better expectation for services. Food is average to beneath average especially when food is not as described by menu. Staff and ambience are what deserves stars, but services do take time.
I have stayed in this Hotel every year for the past three years, unfortunately the service has slipped badly over this time while it still charges a premium, my room was not ready by 5PM, once I got my room it really stunk of cigarette smoke and had no pillow cases over an hour to get pillow cases, they didn't give me another room, just sprayed with some smelly stuff to try mask the smell. Breakie was not of a high standard, didn't want to risk a dinner meal. On the positive, it is such an amazing building, clean and well kept, however will stay somewhere else next time.
This is a great place to grab coffee and have meetings away from the office.
I enjoy taking my friends here for dessert nights, they have that after 8pm half price on all pastries.
I also enjoy band nights and ordering off the bar bites menu.
Without a doubt this is one of the two best hotels in Suva. The Holiday Inn next door is also quite nice, but this is more authentic, has quite a cool history and generally speaking is a bit more "regal".
The food is great and service is always friendly and quicker than the Fiji average.
Rooms are excellent and spacious and gym is functional.
The best hotel in Suva City, has a great sea view, a pool and a lot of rooms of all sizes
Pathetic service. Ordered fruit smoothie ended up getting fruit juice which is readily available from common shops at 2 twice the price. Bill came with added on cost for drinks that we never ordered.
The GPH is an iconic upscale hotel located in the heart of downtown Suva. The staff are attentive and friendly - everyone from the doorman to the reception greets you with a friendly Bula! The rooms are spacious, modern and clean, and well sound-proofed, given that some look out onto the main road. The breakfast buffet is a rare treat for Suva - especially the fresh fruit platter. The GPH is definitely a treat not to be missed.
By far the best in Suva. Very friendly staff. Location is ideal in that it's close to the city centre but walk out by the pool and it still feels a bit like a resort :). Room service was good although complimentary water wasn't restocked which was a bit unfortunate (it's really hot!).
Atmospheric & beautiful in the original old building. Great staff and a real sense of history.
Beautiful, historic hotel set on the ocean and on the edge of downtown Suva. Facilities are beautiful. Restaurants on-site are excellent, and there is a lot to do that is close by.
Stayed here while on my Fiji trip. Loved everything about this place. Food, drinks, potter service to pools. My 2 year old loves the breakfast bar and pool. Met chef who went to school with me.
Lovely atmosphere, amazingly friendly n helpful staff. Great pool & Gym. Spacious, fully equipped rooms. Perfect Bed.. even for PPL with bad backs .
10 stars. From checking in to checking out. Outstanding hospitality. Every request was addressed promptly. You feel like royalty staying here.
Not alot to do. has really nice rooms. But more for corporate staying not for families with little kids.
Well folks, it's grand and it's in the Pacific. You'd stay here because you want to your accommodation in Suva to be classy, have your friends go 'wow' and feel a sense of history and time. The main building is the wow; i kept trying to picture Queen E loitering (!) about the place in her youth. Must've been out of this world for her! The rooms are on the small side but food is delish. Pool looks superb, just wish it wasn't so shallow. Staff very pleasant. Just watch the taxis parked out front - they don't always have meters.
I came here once for a conference so I did not stay here long, but dinner was great. I especially loved their creamy pumpkin soup. Also their hall is large and very accommodating so it's great for meetings and other special events.
Gorgeous hotel! Although the resort is not in the best part of Fiji, it makes the stay in Suva worth while. The amenities are great and the staff was so welcoming at all times.
Close to all amenities. Great location. Newly renovated. Great place.
Great place to hang out. Historic.. Happy hour is great.
As a retired travel agent I did not receive any special treatment but I feel it necessary to say this is the best hotel in Suva. A magnificent property and the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Being on the waterfront the location is sensational.
The property has been restored to its former glory and is is beautifully maintained.
5 Stars !!
Delightful dinner on first visit since 1967!!
This wonderful institution has lost absolutely none of its great charm and character whilst now sporting sensational additions on the harbour front - quite beautiful.
Sincere congratulations.
