Only had a two course meal here. Food was fantastic. Spanish roots but with a modern twist. The presentation of the food was great. Fast friendly service from the waiter and hostess. Definitely worth the time and effort. Small but decent wine selection. It does not feel like a tourists trap. I will definitely be back.

This review is for the hotel itself, not the restaurant. When you walk in, the front of the establishment is the restaurant. The hotel is built behind and above the it. If you have a ground floor room, like we did, your door opens to the dining area of the restaurant. I can't speak to the other rooms above, but I can speak to the ground floor room we had.

Room: Our room was dark with no windows except for a tiny side panel in a side room. The bathroom is literally part of the bedroom, it is not a separate actual bathroom, which was a strange layout that I was not a fan of. Wifi was also spotty and only worked in one corner.

Cleanliness: We spent perhaps an hour taking care of all the flies/mosquitoes/misc bugs in our room. There were cobwebs on the ceiling. Yikes.

Noise: Because the room opens up to the dining floor of the restaurant and is next to the kitchen, expect loudness until very, very late at night. Like 2AM. In the early morning, expect to hear the clanging of pots/pans/dishes/everything because, again, the kitchen is right next to the room and they are opening up shop.

The service was decent. Location was good. That's probably it.truthfully can definitely find a better place with your $$$.

nice place in a good spot for nightlife. I stayed a Sunday night in Oct and the weather was great so it seemed like the whole towns population was in the streets and restaurants having drinks and tapas all afternoon. This place brought me to the middle of that (fun) mayhem.

Stayed at the Hotel Posada del Dragón in May 2016.

At the reception/bar check in I was a little confused as to whether I was in fact at the right place as I have never checked in to a hotel at a bar before however I was assured I was at the right place!

The room itself was smaller than expected which I didn't mind however it was the lack of airflow in the room that made the stay uncomfortable. There are no windows that open so I had to keep the front door open periodically in order to get some fresh air. For natural light, you have to open the blinds which leaves the whole room completely exposed to onlookers.

Most importantly however the room itself was clean, bed was very comfortable and the shower had a lovely waterfall head which is always a pleasure to use :)

I cannot fault the location of the hotel, it is buzzing at all times of the day! Despite the unusual weather in Madrid (raining) the street (Cava Baja) was full of life when we left the hotel in the morning and was packed out with revellers dining and drinking when we returned. Has a plethora of shops where you can eat and drink as well as a pharmacy (of course) ;P

Great central location but on a Saturday night, the streets are loud, for a front facing balcony room (but great to sit and people watch on). Rooms are unique and the bed is extremely nice! First night I slept 12 hours back home I get max 8hours!

Hotel Posada del Dragón is a boutique hotel located on the main Street for tapas in the La Latina area. The hotel is located above the bar and restaurant, but you don't hear either of them from your room. We were greeted by friendly staff and provided with a welcome drink. The ambiance was laid-back, yet attentive to find details. The décor of our room was quirky and fun, but not silly - green indoor/outdoor carpet that climbed from the floor onto one of the walls. The brushed metal and glass aspects of the room provided a good contrast. The bed and pillows were very, very comfortable! The only thing that I wished was different was that the windows opened, but beyond that we had a perfect stay. (Also, get the olives from the bar they may quite possibly be the best I've eaten in my life.)

For us, this was a great find on a rainy day in Madrid. It's easy to assume it's just a tapas bar, but it has a lovely restaurant, and is also a boutique hotel. The food is fantastic quality, and everything we had was really good, but it not necessarily very typical and we had a couple of surprises in terms of expecting a more "classic" serving, and getting something a little more left field. The Russian Salad for example was like no other I have had before. It was good, but I'm not sure I'd have had it had I known what it was going to be. But this is just me, I don't like surprises, even little ones.

we had Russian Salad, croquettes (ham and mussels), battered cod and some other tapas I don't remember. It was all good, the code especially so.

Service was friendly and attentive, and the decor is nice. Not cheap, but for the quality you get I thought it was decent value.
