Basic hostel that is clean and organised. WiFi is usable. The lockers are good, the beds are firm but not uncomfortable. The 2 sheets they give you are thin from age. They clean everyday starting around 10am, mopping the floors, emptying bins and cleaning the shower areas. Floor 3, (top floor) has 3 male and I'm guessing 3 female showers. Other floors seem to just have one. There's a hair dryer on floor 3 - which if you're near to it, may wake you up. Breakfast is basic: cornflakes, milk, white bread, butter and jam, coffee and orange juice. The kitchen is OK, there are the basics to cook with, but no oven, 2 fridges, both with a freezer compartment. Not all of the 8 hot plates work. Also the kettle gets locked away after breakfast and there are only 4 mugs which people seem to take to their rooms. The common area next to the kitchen has 4 tired, mixed PCs and seating for 15. The bench is worn bare but not uncomfortable.
A clean place, very nice people. If you're gonna be a few days in Madrid it's really good option.
You have free breakfast and all the nights there free sangria with all the guys in the hostal.
I wasn't sure about this place before I came, but I can say now take it.
Affordable and clean place situated near everything. The rooms have lockers where you can keep your bags, and there is free breakfast from 8-10 every morning (basic and cheap, but free). Good place is you are traveling alone and are on a budget.
A busy, huge hostel. Free breakfast is nice - toast, jam, cereal. Check in was easy. Location is excellent.
A solid hostel choice in a great location with a very smooth system of accessing the building, rooms, and lockers (you get a watch-like keyless entry wristband that's very hard to lose). Staff is friendly and helpful and the facilities are basic, but clean. Book online for a better deal, because if you just show up you might find an elevated rate. Don't factor extras like paella and sangria into the price; they're not worth much. Bring earplugs.
Very nice hostel with great personell. Only the breakfast could be improved (only toast with jam and butter).
I stayed here on a short trip to Madrid to check out the Thyssen and return to the Prado. Great trip and the hostel was pretty good. I particularly liked their system of having a wristband thing that looks a little like a watch. The round part of that gets you into the hostel, your locker and your room, you just touch it to the lock. Cool system.
WiFi is pretty good, the breakfast was ok, it wasn't too noisy. I'd be happy to stay at this hostel again. Pretty well located for my purposes too, it was a relatively short walk to the Thyssen and the Prado.
The location of the hostel is amasing. It's close to the Retiro Park and to the Sol.
The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.
Great choice for travelers.
One of the best hostels I've stayed! The team was very welcoming and polite. The place was clean and it has a very nice environment with a space for people to hang out.
