Staff is fantastic, room is clean spacious and modern. Free coffee too! No regrets and this place can easily compete with the over priced 4 stars in the area

Small hotel, with unusual design, but has character. Location is good for station and museums. All the taxi drivers we used didn't know the place so be prepared to show a map. Very staff. Don't expect the vast breakfast of a 5 star hotel, but for the price, it's recommended.

Located close to Atocha train station. Close to lidl and a 24 hour store which is quite handy. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Hotel itself i's nice - air conditioning in the rooms plus some have balconies which is a nice feature.

A cute place in the center of the Barrio Lavapies, and only 10 minutes walking from the Atocha train station. Just a perfect location. The rooms are comfy enough with a modern look.

This place punches above its weight. Located next to "hipsterville" it benefits from non-clinical surroundings.
Being a small hotel, the staff has time to be friendly and natural. Also, when you're going anywhere out, ask for the wonderful portable WiFi hotspots. They make moving around the city remarkably easy.

Hotel Artrip is great! It's reasonably priced and very well kept. It's about a 15 minute walk to the city center. I recommend staying here.

This place is a hidden gem in Madrid; a renovated building with chic decor at a great price -- I walked in and spoke with Hugo, who gave me a deal for the attic room, which was so amazing & impressive! I highly recommend it also for its central location near many cultural parts of Madrid :-)

I stayed at the hotel for 8 nights, and was very pleased. It was very inexpensive for the style, convenience and comfort of this hotel. I slept very well here in the enourmous long-double-twin bed. The room was very cool, with a great view of the lovely street in the Lavapies district. The staff was EXCELLENT! Every person that worked there spoke enough English to accommodate my broken paltry Spanish, and they were all smiles and desiring only to help at all times. This small hotel operates like a big boy.

I was not sure about the floor of the room, seemingly a fibrous floorpaper kind of material. It was very interesting, and good to the feet and whatnot, but I was not sure whether to get it wet or not. Also, It seemed to have been applied poorly, with wrinkles in many places where it had been glued down. The cleaning staff also didn't vacuum the floor daily when they entered, so the street debris from my shoes did stay for a while. IT would have been nice to have some art on the walls in the relatively plain rooms, and the breakfast was a little sparse, but always fresh, and not meek in Spanish terms by any means. However, any regrets I had about breakfast were assuaged by the very nice and lovely caterer Ursula, and the Panderia next door.
