Awesome storage place for coffee and cakes, delicious sandwiches as well. Real Catalan Products. Unique in its kind.
This place is special because stepping into it is as if you are wandering into the page of a history book. It has existed since 1870 and the eatery has been passed down through the same family for 5 generations! I love how the painted tiles on the floor have even become pale in some places and how old-fashioned the whole feel of the cafe is. Also, do not miss out on tasting the famous Cacaolat drink they created in 1933. I have already been there twice; if I go to Barcelona for a third time, I will definitely try their dense hot chocolate.
Old settings, utensils, posters etc but hey, the place is clean and we love the old school feel. Churros surprisingly tasty and you will not feel the bad aftertaste of eating too much (fried stuff). The dark choc is amazing. Pure Chocolatey and satisfying (not your rich milky creamy type), a great complement to the churros! We tried the sandwiches and they are good too. Good breakfast venue.
I tried three times to come here. On two attempts they were closed and the build up made me feel as if the third wouldn't be worth it.
Yet it was. Amazing hot chocolate hands down worth it.
Better to come when it just open, otherwise there will be a long lining up. It's a bit greasy for me to have one portion. It would be better for two people to share one. But it is still good to try the Spanish traditional food.
Great place just outside of the touristic area. Churros are ok but better available. great sandwiches and milk
Not gonna lie, I had a stomach ache from the amount of cheese I consumed here. Perhaps post gorge depression at the fact I cannot get this stuff in America. Live it up!
I might say is one of the best churrerías in Barcelona. Their hot chocolate is made with water which it makes it pretty delicious. It reminded me a little bit of "Mexican atole in a way". The only thing negative is that you might wait in line to get in but it moves pretty fast.
Love their hot chocolate with cream! As for the signature creme brulee, I didn't find it particularly delicious. Also, be prepared to wait for tables and feel a bit crammed. Despite the crowdedness, service was quite good.
Sat at a table for 20 minutes. People that got there well after me ordered and were served and I didn't even get to order. I'm sure the food is good, but I gave up at this point and left. What a major waste of time.
