Worth a trip mainly to visit the historic Fat Margaret tower. The exhibit itself is okay, but not that interesting to a casual visitor. There's a rooftop terrace where you can get a great 360 view of Tallinn and take some photos. Overall I would visit only if you are a maritime history enthusiast or have some time to kill; otherwise, the main exhibit at the Seaplane Harbour is much more worth your time.

Interesting museum but I liked more the historic building where the museum is located than the actual exposition. The fat margaret cannon tower was build more than 500 years ago to offer protection in the seaside. The tower has served a number of different functions throughout its history. It has been used a storehouse for gunpowder and weapons, as a prison and now, as a museum.

This museum is housed within the large stronghold in the old town wall called Fat Margaret. the museum is a multi-story building with lots of interesting exhibits. when you reach the top of the tower you can climb out on top of it and survey the surrounding views which mostly look over the post area just outside of old town.

Interesting and informative. A lot of artifacts is related, in fact, to the history of Russian navy, since Tallinn (Reval) played an important part as a naval base during the Russian Empire times. So those who're interested in Russian Navy history shouldn't miss it.

Pretty basic museum otherwise with a lot of the exhibitions in only Estonian and Russian, but the Viking exhibition on the ground floor was interesting and beautifully built. The admission was only 3€ with a student card and well worth it.

The current ground-floor exhibit on finds of ancient Viking burials and such is quite interesting. The maritime section is also cool, but much of it is not in English, as that portion of the museum was created before the fall of the USSR. Beautiful view of the harbor from the roof, as well as coffee and ice cream. Costs (I think) 6€ for adults, less for students and kids.

Absolutely fantastic maritime museum in the old seaplane base. Recently and lovingly restored and now a state of the art facility. You get to go inside an Estonian submarine - how many people in the world can say they've done that? A real must if you're in Tallinn.

Make sure you get this as party of the Seaplane Harbour tour. It is only 2 Euro additional and with it. Interesting exhibit of Maritime artifacts. Starts with the Vikings and works up to near modern times as you climb the tower.

Amazing museum. If visiting only the tower part maybe not so much, but with exposition in the seaplane harbour it's an astonishing experience. They have a submarine that you can actually climb in as well as into some other ships.

Great museum and deceptively large. It's over a few floors and has information, models and pictures covering a very large timespan as well as an education on the history of Estonia. Lovely roof terrace allows for great views across the city.

A very interesting museum covering a period of time from the Vikings to current day. Lots of models of ships and items that have been recovered from wrecks. Nice cafe on the roof where you can get stunning views of the harbour and old city
