I stayed in a dorm room Tambopaxi for 3 very peaceful and comfortable nights. My visit was mid-week and I benefited from having an 8 person room with the best views of Cotopaxi all to myself.
I highly recommend both staying this lodge and coming here to use their restaurant and comfortable lounge with wood burning stoves and picture windows.
My only suggestion would be to have one member of staff available to communicate with guests in English who perhaps might be female, to bring a woman's touch to the place - but I'm a woman, so I'm biased!
The place is warm, clean and stylish. The food is hearty and prettily presented, with kitchen staff who bring a warm background atmosphere to the place. The walking, horse riding and bird watching opportunities are excellent, and so is just relaxing in the beautiful surroundings.

I don't know why people hating on this place. This placed is located in an amazing area with a great view of Cotopaxi. Food was amazing, staff was friendly. It wasn't at all expensive. I do gotta mention that you will probably have to share a room with other people. We stayed in the biggest room that would probably fit ten people.. beds are right next to each other but we got lucky enough that there weren't many people staying that night or in our room.. the cabin can get cold so bring extra sweaters! Amazing experience though

So expensive! Although the horseback ride is breathtaking, everything else is extremely overpriced. Never again will we be staying overnight or getting food here.

Die Lodge liegt sehr schön unterhalb des Cotopaxi. Sehr gut geführt mit tollen Zimmern und gutem Essen. Perfekter Standort bevor man zur Hütte hoch geht und den Gipfel erklimmt.

Tambopaxi Lodge / Hosteria is truly a magical place. It's the only construction with all amenities inside the Cotopaxi National Park. The rooms are large and have a fire place to make you warmer when it gets cold. For being so remote this place has all you need for a night or two while you hike around the park. The restaurant, food, and service was very good. A lot of options with both local cuisine and traditional international dishes. The location is perfect for a summit bid at Cotopaxi, Ruminahui, or Sincholagua peaks. This was my first time here and would definitely come back!

Hello, it looks like the GPS localisation is not the good one. It appears here to be close to the Quilotoa instead of being close to the Cotopaxi !
